Overview

Deepchecks connects evaluation, production checks, and debugging in one platform. Teams can score outputs, compare versions, manage golden sets, and use custom or built-in properties to assess behavior. Filtering and drill-down help investigate application steps when results raise concerns.

Its monitoring covers drift, model performance, data quality, and bias, with alerts through email, Slack, and webhooks. This makes it relevant to teams that need ongoing oversight as well as evaluation, but the included model limit of 10 and the Basic plan’s single application may constrain broader rollouts.

Key features

Evaluation and investigation

Automated scoring and version comparison support repeatable checks as models change. Golden sets provide a managed basis for evaluation, while custom and off-the-shelf properties allow teams to shape checks to their needs. When something looks wrong, filtering and drill-down offer a way to inspect application steps and look for root causes. Together, these tools suit teams that need both measurement and a route to diagnosis.

Production monitoring and alerts

Deepchecks applies checks to production systems and includes drift, performance, data-quality, and bias monitoring. Email, Slack, and webhooks give teams several alert routes. That breadth is useful for operational oversight, although the Basic plan’s 5K monthly DPU allocation makes workload a key consideration.

Deployment, security, and integrations

Deployment options span multi-tenant SaaS, virtual private cloud on GCP or Azure, bare metal, and AWS-managed deployment. The AWS option integrates with Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker AI; Deepchecks says in-app data and artifacts stay within the environment perimeter for that deployment. The product lists SOC 2 Type 2, GDPR, and HIPAA compliance, along with single sign-on and AWS GovCloud support. Integrations include pytest, Apache Airflow, ZenML, and CML. This range gives teams with varied infrastructure and governance needs meaningful options, though the best fit depends on the deployment they require.

Pricing

Deepchecks uses a freemium model, with paid plans starting at $159. Its pricing page measures SaaS usage in DPUs and allocates a fixed monthly amount per plan; the Basic plan also offers a free trial.

Plan	Price	Includes
Basic	0.00 USD per free	Up to 3 seats, 1 AI application, up to 5K DPUs/month, 3 months of data retention, and unlimited prompt-based metrics.
Scale	Custom pricing	5 seats, 3 AI applications, 20K DPUs/month, premium support, premium compliance, and guided platform onboarding.
Enterprise	Custom pricing	Custom seats and AI applications, custom monthly DPUs, enterprise-grade security, an enterprise support package, and a dedicated customer success team.

Basic is a practical starting point for a small team evaluating one application, but its seat, usage, and three-month retention ceilings limit its role as monitoring expands. Scale raises the application and DPU allowances and adds support, compliance, and onboarding; its five-seat cap remains relevant for larger teams. Enterprise is the plan for organizations needing tailored capacity, security, and support, with custom pricing rather than a published rate.

Platforms

Deepchecks supports API, Linux, self-hosted, and web use. The hybrid deployment options are valuable for teams that need alternatives to multi-tenant SaaS, including an AWS-managed route with a stated data-perimeter boundary.

Who it's for

Deepchecks is best for teams building or operating AI applications that need repeatable LLM evaluation, ongoing production checks, and tools to investigate failures. It is particularly compelling when deployment flexibility, compliance requirements, or data locality shape the decision. A small team with one application can begin on Basic; teams expecting multiple applications or heavier SaaS use should assess the paid tiers and their fixed DPU allocations.

Pros and cons

Pros: Evaluation, production monitoring, and debugging sit in one workflow, reducing the need to treat assessment and incident investigation as separate tasks.
Pros: SaaS, private-cloud, bare-metal, and AWS-managed deployments give teams options for infrastructure and data-boundary requirements.
Pros: Basic includes up to 3 seats and unlimited prompt-based metrics, making a bounded one-application start possible without a subscription price.
Cons: Basic is limited to one application, 5K DPUs/month, and three months of retention, so sustained or expanding monitoring may outgrow it.
Cons: Scale and Enterprise use custom pricing, making the cost of higher capacity less predictable before engaging with the plans.
Cons: The included model limit is 10, which may not suit teams overseeing a larger model portfolio.

Alternatives

Consider Arthur if its free plan’s limits—four use cases, one organization, one workspace, two projects, seven-day retention, and capped jobs, spans, inferences, and evaluations—fit your monitoring needs.

NannyML is a fit for readers who want a self-managed free open-source plan or a published Starter price of 399.00 USD per month for two models, 10 M predictions, and email support.

SUPERWISE is another option, with a Solo plan at 10.00 USD per month after 30 days free for one Sentinel deployment and development use.

Choose Arize AX if its free SaaS plan’s 15-day retention, 25k trace spans/month, and 1 GB ingestion/month better match your evaluation and observability needs.

Domino Model Monitor is an alternative for teams considering a paid model-monitoring product with premium support.

Opik may suit teams that prefer downloadable open-source observability and evaluation features they can run locally.

ModelOp Center is an enterprise product for buyers prepared to request a demo.

Galileo offers a freemium option and a Pro plan at 100.00 USD per month, billed yearly, with 50,000 traces per month.

Verdict

Deepchecks is a strong choice for AI teams that want evaluation, production monitoring, and debugging alongside flexible deployment and security options. Its main advantage is that connected workflow; its main reason to look elsewhere is the Basic plan’s tight application and usage ceilings, compounded by custom pricing for higher tiers. Choose it when those operational and deployment strengths matter more than having transparent paid-plan pricing.
