Overview

Cutout.Pro removes and replaces image backgrounds, with tools to refine edges when automatic processing misses part of a subject. It suits people who need occasional cutouts as well as teams handling larger batches; its free previews make it easy to check an image before spending a credit.

Inputs can be JPG, PNG, WEBP or BMP, up to 15 MB and 4096 × 4096 pixels. Exports are PNG or JPG. Cutout.Pro says images are processed securely, deleted automatically, and not stored or shared.

Key features

Removal and replacement: Background replacement extends the service beyond transparent cutouts, useful when an image needs a new setting rather than just a clean subject.
Manual refinement: The Erase & Restore brush can repair missed background or clipped foreground areas.
Preview before purchase: Each upload receives a low-resolution, watermark-free preview without an account or credits. It helps screen results, but is not a substitute for the HD download.
Batch and API workflows: Batch processing is supported, and Windows and Mac desktop apps can process folders. API access gives developers another route to incorporate the service.
Credit-based downloads: One credit buys one HD image download. New accounts receive five credits without a card, while the free preview lets users assess more uploads before committing.

Pricing

Cutout.Pro is freemium. Subscriptions renew monthly and provide a set credit allowance: 80 credits for 5.00 USD per month, 170 for 9.90 USD per month, 300 for 16.90 USD per month, 550 for 29.00 USD per month, 1000 for 49.00 USD per month, or 1450 for 69.00 USD per month. Since each HD download costs one credit, the tiers map directly to monthly download volumes. The 80-credit tier is a low-cost starting point; higher tiers suit heavier recurring use. Subscription credits can roll over up to five times the monthly budget, which softens quiet months but still caps accumulated credits.

Pay-as-you-go packages are 30 credits for 4.99 USD per month, 300 for 39.00 USD per month, 900 for 79.00 USD per month, 3000 for 199.00 USD per month, 30000 for 1399.00 USD per month, or 5000000 for 37500.00 USD per month. These packages fit less predictable demand better than a monthly allowance, though the smallest provides only 30 HD downloads. Main-platform credit purchases have a 14-day refund guarantee; credits bought through the Shopify App are non-refundable, a material distinction for Shopify customers.

Platforms

Cutout.Pro supports Android, iOS, web, Windows, Mac and Linux, plus API access. Folder-based batch processing is specifically supported by the Windows and Mac desktop apps.

Who it's for

Choose Cutout.Pro if you need background removal with replacement options, correction brushes, or batch processing across desktop folders, and want to preview before using credits. It is less compelling for someone who needs only a few HD images and wants to avoid paid credits, or whose workflow requires export formats beyond PNG and JPG.

Pros and cons

Pro: Free previews need neither signup nor credits, so users can inspect results before paying.
Pro: The five-credit signup allowance, manual refinement, and background replacement cover evaluation and correction as well as basic removal.
Pro: Desktop folder processing and API access accommodate both batch work and software-connected workflows.
Con: HD downloads consume credits one image at a time, so recurring volume requires choosing a monthly quota or buying a larger package.
Con: The preview is low-resolution; evaluating the final HD output requires spending a credit.
Con: Shopify App credit purchases have no refund guarantee.

Alternatives

For a free browser-based option that allows up to 30 images per batch, consider RemoveBackgrounds.ai. Don's Tools Background Remover is another free option, with batches of up to 150 images at once. If you want a free tier that also includes limited upscaling, Pixelcut offers that alongside background removal and watermark-free export. Clipdrop may fit better if you also need tools such as cleanup, relighting or text removal, with daily free-use limits.

EraseBG, Erase.bg, Photoroom and PhotoScissors are other alternatives to compare. Browse AI Background Removers, Image Background Removal Software, AI Background Generators, AI Object Removal Tools, Green Screen Software and AI Video Upscalers for related categories.

Verdict

Cutout.Pro is a strong fit for users who want a flexible background-removal workflow with previews, correction tools, replacement backgrounds and practical batch options. Its main drawback is the credit cost of every HD image; compare alternatives if your volume is low, your budget is strict, or Shopify App refunds matter.
