Overview

Cozi brings family scheduling together with grocery, to-do and other lists, plus recipes and dinner planning. The color-coded calendar supports reminders and agenda emails, while family members can share a shopping list or email it to someone picking up groceries. This mix makes Cozi a practical fit for coordinating household routines, not just appointments.

One account can include up to 12 family members, and everyone can view, add, edit and delete account data. That supports a large household without separate subscriptions, but the lack of restricted access rules it out when some members should only see or change selected information. Calendar feeds to and from Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple Calendar are read-only, so Cozi is less suitable for people who need changes to synchronize in both directions.

Key features

Calendar, lists and meals

Shared to-do, chore, packing and other lists sit alongside the calendar, with no stated limit on the number of lists. That flexibility is useful for households with different recurring tasks, while shopping lists can be passed to someone who is not doing the planning. The recipe library supports weekly dinner planning and can send recipe ingredients to a shopping list, connecting meal decisions to grocery errands.

Account access and support

Cozi works on the web and in iOS and Android apps. It does not offer phone support; users contact customer support by email, and Gold subscribers receive priority email support. The privacy policy identifies OurFamilyWizard, LLC as the controller of personal data processed through the platforms and describes collecting account details such as names, email addresses and IP addresses.

Pricing

Cozi is freemium, with a free tier and two annual paid tiers. One paid subscription covers everyone in the account, which makes the price straightforward for families rather than a per-person charge.

Cozi Free: Free. It includes a shared family calendar, automatic notifications, shared grocery and to-do lists, and a recipe library. This covers the core household organizer without a subscription.
Cozi Gold: 39.00 USD per year, billed annually. It includes everything in Free, an ad-free experience, premium features, and up to three reminders per event. It suits families who want more reminders or the paid features without moving to AI tools.
Cozi Max: 79.00 USD per year, billed annually. It includes everything in Gold, plus AI Event Import, AI Recipe Creator and AI Meal Planner. Choose it if those tools justify paying 40.00 USD more per year than Gold; otherwise Gold retains the stated reminder benefit at the lower price.

A two-week Gold trial is available when starting a subscription on the web; app store subscriptions do not offer the trial. The subscription covers the whole account, but the shared access rules remain the same on paid plans.

Platforms

Cozi is available on the web, iOS and Android, so households can use it across desktop and mobile. Its calendar connections to Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple Calendar are read-only, an important limitation for anyone who expects updates in both directions.

Who it's for

Cozi is best for families who want a shared calendar, household lists and meal planning in one place, especially when a free plan or one subscription for everyone matters. It is a weaker choice for households that need private sections or limited permissions for individual members, or for users who rely on two-way calendar sync.

Pros and cons

Pro: One account can include up to 12 family members, and a single paid subscription applies to everyone.
Pro: Calendar, lists, recipes and dinner planning connect scheduling with everyday household work.
Pro: Shared lists have no stated numerical cap, and shopping lists can be emailed to a grocery pickup helper.
Con: Every included member can view, add, edit and delete account data; there is no restricted-access option.
Con: Calendar feeds are read-only, so Cozi does not provide two-way synchronization with Google, Outlook or Apple calendars.
Con: Phone support is unavailable, with email as the support channel.

Alternatives

Choose FamilyWall if you want a freemium family organizer that also includes a messenger and contact book on its free plan. Famnly is an iOS-only freemium option for readers considering a family calendar with one managed member on its free plan. Ahenora is another freemium choice across Android, iOS and web, with its free plan aimed at two adults and shared tasks, calendar and lists. Equal House may suit households interested in a fairness-focused approach, though its free plan looks only three days ahead. Fami is worth considering if a family organizer with budget and family-place features is a better fit. Famnest is an option for readers seeking family calendar, chores and meal-planning basics across web and mobile, including macOS. OpenFamily is a free self-hosted alternative for readers who want to host their family calendar themselves. Spondle is a free Android and iOS home organizer to consider instead.

Verdict

Cozi is a strong fit for families who want shared scheduling, lists and meal planning under one account, with a useful free tier and predictable household-wide paid pricing. Its biggest drawback is that all members share full editing access, compounded by one-way calendar connections. Choose it when those limits work for your household; look elsewhere if permissions or bidirectional sync are essential.
