Overview

Contractbook is a cloud-based contract lifecycle platform from a Copenhagen-based company founded in 2017. It suits teams that need to manage contracts from drafting through post-signature follow-up, particularly companies with 11–1,000 employees. Its broad workflow is a stronger draw than its plan transparency: several tiers have no published price, and the priced options require annual billing.

Teams can prepare drafts from CRM, form, or other tool data, then route them through review and signing. Afterward, contracts can be centralized, searched, and used to prompt renewals and other tasks. External signers can complete documents without a Contractbook account, which avoids requiring counterparties to adopt the service.

Key features

Drafting and review: Pre-approved templates and pre-filled drafts can cut repetitive preparation. Approval workflows, comments, suggestions, and version history help teams manage review, though the value depends on adopting a shared process.
Signing: Legally binding e-signatures include signing order, identity verification, and two-factor signing. Those controls suit teams that need a more structured signature flow than a simple send-and-sign step.
Repository and follow-up: Teams can bulk-import existing contracts, scan and extract data, organize records, search them, and manage permissions. Deadline and renewal reminders plus customizable post-signature tasks extend the service beyond document storage.
Integrations and security: Contractbook advertises more than 3,000 integrations, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Google Calendar, Slack, Zapier, and Make.com, alongside API access. It states that it is SOC 2 and GDPR compliant and describes encryption, verified accounts, two-factor signatures, and regular black-box penetration testing. These claims make it a plausible fit for teams weighing connected workflows and security controls, but do not replace an organization's own review.
Support: Every plan includes live chat, email, and phone support; some plans add a dedicated success manager. That baseline is useful, while the extra named support may matter to teams needing more implementation guidance.

Pricing

Contractbook uses a freemium model, with a free plan and a 14-day trial. The trial costs 0.00 USD per free, requires no credit card, and includes all features for 14 days; afterward access is limited to the Free plan. That makes it useful for evaluating the full workflow, but not evidence that a team can keep using every capability without a paid plan.

Essential: Custom pricing; 1 user, 100 signed contracts per year, and 5 templates. This is the smallest stated allowance and may fit an individual with modest signing volume, but the quota and template cap constrain broader use.
Centralize: 399.00 USD per month, billed annually; 5 users, 15 templates, and 350 signed contracts per year, plus AI data extraction, CSV export, and .docx download. It suits a small team that needs repository-oriented tools and a defined annual volume; the annual commitment and contract cap deserve attention.
Accelerate: Custom pricing; 10 users, 25 templates, and 500 signed contracts per year. It offers more capacity than Centralize, but still sets a signing ceiling, so teams should compare their expected volume before choosing.
Custom: Custom pricing for a tailored setup, initial setup consultancy, and 1:1 Customer Success Manager support. This is the option for organizations that need guided configuration rather than a fixed allowance.
Growth: 599.00 USD per month, billed annually; unlimited users and contracts, conditional templates, automations, SSO, and a dedicated success manager. It is the clearest fit for larger or higher-volume teams that need to avoid per-year signing caps, though its annual billing makes it a substantial commitment.

Support across plans includes live chat, email, and phone.

Platforms

Contractbook runs in the cloud and supports web and API access. Its review workflow is browser-based, so it suits teams working through a web interface or connecting systems programmatically; Android, iOS, desktop, and self-hosted platforms are not part of its stated platform list.

Who it's for

Contractbook is best for organizations that want drafting, approvals, signing, searchable contract records, and renewal follow-up in one workflow. The advertised employee range of 11–1,000 points toward teams with enough contracts and participants to benefit from centralization. It is less compelling for a solo user or a team that only needs signatures, especially if annual billing or stated contract caps do not fit its volume.

Pros and cons

Pros: Covers the contract lifecycle from draft to renewal reminders, reducing the need to treat signing as the end of the process.
Pros: Recipients can sign without an account, removing an adoption hurdle for external parties.
Pros: Multiple collaboration controls and broad integration options support shared review and connected workflows.
Cons: Essential and Accelerate have contract quotas, while Centralize also limits users and templates; teams must match projected activity to the tier.
Cons: The priced Centralize and Growth plans are billed annually, and several other tiers use custom pricing, making comparison and commitment less straightforward.
Cons: The platform list is web and API, so organizations requiring a stated mobile or self-hosted option should look elsewhere.

Alternatives

Consider OpenCLM if a free, self-hosted or API option is more important than Contractbook's wider workflow: its Free plan is 0.00 USD per free, billed $0 forever, with 1 user, unlimited contracts, and 5 e-signatures per month. Choose SpotDraft instead if Android or iOS access, implementation included, dedicated customer success, and 24/7 support better match your needs; its pricing is based on users or contract volume.

Ironclad is another paid option with API and web platforms and separately selectable contract lifecycle, AI assistant, or eSignature products. Conga CLM may suit readers comparing a paid platform that supports API, macOS, web, and Windows. CobbleStone Contract Insight, Icertis Contract Management, Gatekeeper, and Contract Logix are also alternatives to compare; their stated platforms include API access.

Verdict

Choose Contractbook if your team needs one place to draft, review, sign, store, and track contracts, with recipient-friendly signing and renewal follow-up as notable advantages. Its workflow depth and integrations are the main reasons to choose it; annual billing, custom-priced tiers, and capped allowances are the reasons to compare carefully or look elsewhere if your needs are smaller or your volume is hard to predict.
