Overview

ClickUp offers List, Board, Calendar, Team and Gantt views, alongside time tracking and automation rules. It runs on Android, iOS, macOS and Windows, so teams can access it across mobile and desktop devices.

More than 50 native integrations include Slack, HubSpot, Google Drive, Salesforce, Zapier and Dropbox. ClickUp lists SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications, as well as GDPR and HIPAA compliance. The Free plan includes 24/7 support, a useful inclusion for teams trying the product without a paid commitment.

Key features

Flexible task views and automation

The five available views give teams different ways to organize and review work without limiting them to a single presentation. Automation rules and time tracking add workflow and activity tracking capabilities. Automation limits vary substantially by plan, from 100 executions to 250,000; teams with frequent automated workflows should match the plan limit to their expected volume.

Free-tier trade-offs

Free Forever includes unlimited tasks and members, one form and 60MB of file storage, with no credit card required. Unlimited tasks and members make it practical for broad evaluation or lightweight work, but 60MB is a tight allowance for teams sharing files. Free-plan guests have full create and edit permissions that cannot be changed, so this tier is a poor fit when external collaborators should have restricted access.

Paid plans include limited external guest seats and unlimited read-only guests, a more controlled arrangement for sharing work outside the team. Each Workspace is billed separately, which can raise costs for organizations that maintain multiple Workspaces.

Pricing

ClickUp uses a freemium model. Free Forever costs 0.00 USD per free and includes 60MB storage, unlimited tasks, unlimited free plan members and one form. It is the clearest starting point for teams that can work within the storage cap and accept the guest-permission rules.

Unlimited costs 10.00 USD per month, billed yearly. It adds unlimited storage, Gantt charts, integrations and custom fields, making it the step up for teams that need those capacities without the higher automation and dashboard allowances of Business.

Business costs 19.00 USD per month, billed yearly. It includes 5,000 automations per month and unlimited dashboards, activity views and timeline views. Teams that rely on more automation or broader reporting views have a stronger case for this tier than for Unlimited.

Enterprise has custom pricing through sales. It includes 250,000 automations per month and unlimited custom roles, which may suit organizations with heavy automation demands or role requirements. Brain AI costs 9.00 USD per month, billed at $9 per user/month, and includes unlimited Brain Assistant and AI chat. AI Free Forever has no listed price and provides trial access to advanced AI features.

The paid plan descriptions specify annual billing, while the pricing note also gives a starting price of $7/user/mo (annual). The listed Unlimited and Business plan prices are higher; compare the intended plan and billing basis before budgeting. ClickUp advertises a 100% money-back guarantee and offers a free trial.

Platforms

ClickUp offers apps for Android, iOS, macOS and Windows. The platform range supports teams that need to move between mobile and desktop, rather than relying on a single operating system.

Who it's for

ClickUp is a strong fit for teams that want several ways to view work, built-in time tracking, integrations and a path from a no-cost tier to much higher automation limits. It is less compelling for teams that need substantial file storage without paying, or that need to control what free-plan guests can edit.

Pros and cons

Pros: Unlimited free tasks and members let teams start broadly without per-member caps on the Free plan.
Pros: Five work views, time tracking, automation and 50+ native integrations cover varied coordination needs in one product.
Pros: Free-plan 24/7 support and paid plans with unlimited read-only guests give teams useful support and sharing options.
Cons: The Free plan's 60MB storage allowance can constrain file-heavy work.
Cons: Free guests have unchangeable full create and edit permissions, limiting safe external collaboration.
Cons: Separate billing for each Workspace complicates costs for organizations with multiple Workspaces.

Verdict

Choose ClickUp if your team needs multiple work views, time tracking, integrations and automation that can scale well beyond the free tier. Look elsewhere if the free storage cap or unrestricted free-guest editing is a deal-breaker, and account for separate Workspace billing before committing.
