Overview

Humanitix is an event ticketing and administration platform for organizers running free or paid events. It suits charities, schools, and teams that want ticket sales, promotion, and check-in together; its charitable use of booking-fee profits is a distinction, not a substitute for comparing the fees.

Founded in Sydney in 2016, Humanitix directs 100% of profits from booking fees to charity. Organizers should still account for booking and payment-processing charges on paid tickets.

Key features

Ticketing includes unlimited ticket types, reserved seating, merchandise, gift cards, invoicing, and waitlists. That breadth helps with events that need more than a single general-admission option. Session registration and advanced form customization add structure to sign-ups, while guest and refund management, later ticket assignment, and sales reports help with event administration.

Website ticket widgets, promotional and affiliate codes, email tools, and accessibility features support event promotion. Integration guides cover Mailchimp, Salesforce, HubSpot, Zapier, Meta Pixel, Google Tag Manager, and analytics platforms, a useful range for teams working across those services. The public API is read-only and retrieves event, order, ticket, and tag information for events owned by or shared with an account; it is not suited to teams that need to write data through an API.

The free Humanitix for Hosts app runs on iOS and Android and lets event teams track, check in, and sell tickets. Check-in requires Android 7.0 or later or iOS 13.0 or later; Tap to Pay has additional device and operating-system requirements. Hosts can sign in with email and password, two-factor authentication, or Google single sign-on. Buyers do not maintain logged-in accounts.

Humanitix says its payment processing is PCI DSS certified, but it is not currently ISO 27001 certified. It says it does not sell user data and stores application data in MongoDB Atlas on AWS in the Sydney region. Support is included on all plans, and the support team is based in Sydney.

Pricing

Humanitix is freemium. Free events have no ticket fee. For paid events, the Standard plan charges 2.1% booking fee plus $0.99 per paid ticket; payment processing is listed separately at 2.9% + $0.30. These per-ticket charges mean organizers should include both fees when setting prices or estimating proceeds.

Charities & Schools charges 1% booking fee plus $0.99 per paid ticket, with payment processing separately listed at 2.9% + $0.30. Its lower booking-fee percentage is relevant to qualifying schools and charities, though the per-ticket and processing charges remain. Both paid plans are priced at $0.99 per month billed per paid ticket, so the stated monthly figure is not the full cost of selling tickets. Larger events can request custom pricing.

Platforms

Humanitix supports web, Android, iOS, and API access. The Hosts app is free, but teams relying on check-in should confirm their devices meet the minimum operating-system requirements; Tap to Pay has additional requirements.

Who it's for

Humanitix is a strong fit for charities, schools, and event teams that need ticketing, registration, promotion, and on-site operations in one platform, particularly when free events are part of their program. Teams with paid events should compare the combined booking and processing charges against their ticket prices and expected volume. It is a weaker fit for organizations that need API write access or whose check-in devices fall below the app requirements.

Pros and cons

Pros: Unlimited ticket types, reserved seating, waitlists, merchandise, and gift cards accommodate varied event setups.
Pros: Free-event ticketing has no ticket fee, and the free Hosts app covers tracking, check-in, and ticket sales.
Pros: Booking-fee profits go to charity, and all plans include customer support.
Cons: Paid tickets incur both a booking fee and separately stated processing charges, so the $0.99 monthly figure does not describe total selling costs.
Cons: The public API is read-only, and mobile check-in depends on minimum iOS or Android versions.

Alternatives

For a broad comparison, see Event Management Software, Event Registration Software, and Nonprofit Event Management Software.

Eventbrite is worth comparing for free event publishing: its free plan allows unlimited event publishing, with no ticketing fees on free tickets and no event-size limit for free events.

Kindest Events may suit teams that want admin-seat limits and a platform-fee structure; its Kickstart plan includes three admin seats and waives its 5% platform fee for the first $50K of the first year.

RunSignup is another option for free events, with no processing fee for a $0 cart; its registration processing fee is charged per cart.

Zoho Backstage is a better fit when a capped free tier is enough: its free plan allows 100 attendees per event, 300 RSVP invites, three sessions, three speakers, and one event day.

RegFox may appeal to organizers comparing a capped paid-registration fee: its Standard plan charges $0.99 plus 1% per paid registration, capped at $4.99 per registrant; free events cost $0.99 per registrant.

Zeffy is an option for teams seeking a free platform that combines event ticketing and fundraising with donation forms, peer-to-peer campaigns, donor management, email tools, and Tap to Pay.

Cvent is an option for organizations that want to license only the solutions they need; its registration product can be tried for free.

Swell Fundraising is another fundraising option.

Verdict

Choose Humanitix if your team wants event ticketing, administration, promotion, and mobile check-in in one service, with booking-fee profits directed to charity. Look elsewhere if paid-ticket costs are a priority to minimize, you need a write-capable public API, or your check-in devices do not meet the app requirements.
