Overview

Floways is church management software for congregations and ministry organizations that want member administration, giving and event tools in one system. It suits churches ready to bring several ministry functions together; its free modules make a focused start possible, but broader access requires a paid subscription.

Key features

People and ministry workflows

The free People module includes unlimited profiles, households, workflows, notes, tags and reporting. It also brings pastoral notes and ministry activity alongside smart lists, digital forms, volunteer background-check management, email and SMS features, and follow-up workflows. That is a substantial option for churches focused on member management, though it does not by itself provide all the platform's modules.

Connected modules and events

Floways offers twelve modules: People, Giving, Ticketing, Groups, Services, Check-Ins, Bookings, Registrations, Sites, App, Content and Floways AI. The maker says they share data and work natively together, a practical advantage for organizations using several of them. Custom registration forms, payment collection and attendee check-in support event administration. Registrations are free for all events, with standard processing fees on paid events. Ticketing has no monthly fee, but costs A$1 per ticket—or 20% for tickets under A$5—plus card processing, so the per-ticket charge matters for frequent or low-priced events.

Payments, security and data

Australian card processing costs 1.75% plus A$0.30 per transaction. BECS direct debit costs 1.5% plus A$0.45, capped at A$5. These charges apply even to free Giving and Registrations modules, so organizations collecting payments should account for transaction costs as well as subscription fees. Floways says it hosts on AWS Sydney, stores AU/NZ customer data in Australia, and encrypts stored data with AES-256 and connections with TLS 1.2 or higher. It uses a separate PostgreSQL database for each church; payment processing is handled by PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant processors, and Floways says it does not store raw card numbers or CVVs. Customers can export data as JSON or CSV at no charge. The maker says church data is not used to train AI models and AI features can be disabled at module or organization level.

Floways AI is described as coming soon, with an assistant, workflow agents and an MCP server for compatible external AI clients. It should not be a reason to choose the product for capabilities that are not yet available.

Pricing

Floways uses a freemium model. People, Giving, Registrations and Ticketing each have a free module option. People includes unlimited profiles, households, workflows, notes, tags and reporting. Giving has no monthly fee, but card and direct debit fees apply; paid Registrations events incur standard processing fees, and Ticketing adds its per-ticket charge and card processing. The pricing note also gives a 30-day trial.

Floways Core: 99.00 USD per month, billed A$99/mo in AUD, excluding GST. It includes nine modules at unlimited tiers and a 30-day trial, but excludes Sites and App. This is the paid entry point for churches that need a broad set of modules without the complete offering.
Floways Complete: 169.00 USD per month, billed A$169/mo in AUD, excluding GST. It includes every available module, Sites and App at Ultimate tier, and the Church Hub shared app. It fits organizations that need those additional modules; the higher price is difficult to justify if they do not.
Large Church: custom subscription pricing for churches with 500+ members. Volume rebates are available and dedicated support is included, making this the stated fit for larger organizations.

Core includes 10 GB of shared storage and Complete 25 GB; Build Your Subscription includes 2 GB. Additional storage is available for a monthly fee. Dedicated Support is a separate optional add-on for A$799 per year plus GST, with priority email and phone support and a named contact; Large Church includes dedicated support. The lower storage allowance on Build Your Subscription is a consideration for organizations expecting to store more material.

Platforms

Floways supports Android, iOS and the web, giving congregations mobile and browser access.

Who it's for

Floways identifies local churches, denominational bodies, parachurch ministries and faith-based nonprofits as its intended users. It is a stronger fit for organizations that want connected member, giving and event functions than for those needing only a basic directory or a single free module. The 500+ member Large Church tier addresses larger churches, while the optional support add-on may suit organizations that want priority contact without that tier.

Pros and cons

Pro: The free People plan has no stated cap on profiles, households, workflows, notes, tags or reporting, which supports member management without a monthly module fee.
Pro: Twelve connected modules can bring several church functions into one platform, and the maker says they share data natively.
Pro: Free JSON or CSV exports, stated AU/NZ data hosting in Australia and separate church databases are useful considerations for organizations evaluating data handling and portability.
Con: Core excludes Sites and App, so churches wanting those must choose Complete or another arrangement.
Con: Transaction charges remain on payment activity, and Ticketing adds A$1 per ticket—or 20% under A$5—so free module pricing does not mean cost-free event operations.
Con: Build Your Subscription includes only 2 GB shared storage, and extra storage costs monthly; organizations with larger storage needs should compare allowances before committing.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison of event-focused options, see Church Event Management Software.

Subsplash Church App is worth comparing if an app-centered option with a free Giving plan is the priority; its Giving plan has no setup costs, with card and ACH processing fees.
ChurchPlan may suit churches seeking an Essentials plan with unlimited members, online giving, automated tax receipts, a personalized church mobile app, and donation links and QR codes at no charge.
Fellowr is another freemium option with a free plan and trial; its free tier has no member cap, though metered allowances apply.
Planning Center is a useful comparison for churches that prefer separate free modules, including a one-room Calendar and unlimited database and reporting in People.
TimelyChurch may fit a smaller church seeking a defined free cap of 100 people and 500 MB, or a Growth plan for up to 500 people.
ChurchCMS is an alternative for organizations considering self-hosting, with a free self-hosted plan that includes six core modules, an Android app and no usage limits.
Faith Teams offers a free account capped at 100 active people, with online giving activation within 30 days of signup.
Vinteract is another freemium option whose always-free People & Workflows plan combines people, households, workflows and follow-up in one profile.

Verdict

Floways is a strong choice for churches and faith-based organizations that want member management, payments and event functions connected in one system, especially if the free People module meets their immediate needs. Its main reason to look elsewhere is cost structure: the broader modules require paid tiers, while payment processing and Ticketing charges add costs even when modules themselves are free.
