Overview

CallHub combines campaign calling and digital organizing, including voice broadcasts, peer-to-peer and mass texting, email outreach, relational organizing, and workflow automation. Its calling and messaging mix makes it more suitable for organized campaigns than for teams seeking only a basic business texting inbox.

The product is made by Gaglers Inc., based in Washington, DC; its company story dates the original chat tool to 2011. CallHub says it uses AWS infrastructure and complies with SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27001, and HIPAA. It says web session traffic uses HTTPS and TLS and sensitive data is encrypted in transit.

Key features

Phone banking and calling

Power, auto, predictive, and preview dialers cover several outbound calling approaches. Branching scripts help structure conversations, while inbound and patch-through calling support responses and transfers. Local presence, voicemail drop, call recording, and AI-powered Smart Insights add options for campaign teams managing calls at scale. This is a substantial calling toolkit, though teams needing only occasional calls may not need its range.

Messaging and workflows

CallHub supports voice and text broadcasts, text-to-join, email outreach, peer-to-peer texting, and relational organizing. Peer-to-peer tools include automatically sent opening messages, trackable shortened links, profanity filtering, custom surveys, and data integration. These features give teams ways to coordinate targeted conversations as well as one-way outreach; workflows extend that work beyond individual messages.

Integrations and access

Integrations include NationBuilder, Blackbaud, NGP VAN, Action Network, CiviCRM, Salesforce, Freshsales, Zapier, and OSDI. CallHub says its API can support custom two-way data flows with another app, which is useful when an organization needs its campaign data to move between systems.

Android and iOS apps support Android 10 or later and iPhones running iOS 12 or later. The web product works on Windows and Mac in popular browsers, with Chrome recommended for browser calling.

Pricing

CallHub is paid, with a free plan and free trial also offered. Essential is priced at 0.05 USD per month, billed at standard rates, and provides free credits to get started. It allows up to 10,000 contacts, 10 agents, five team members, one sub-account, three workflows, and three segments. Those caps make it the more bounded choice for smaller campaigns; the 10-agent ceiling and three-workflow allowance can be limiting for teams with parallel outreach programs.

Scale has custom pricing and includes unlimited contacts, agents, team members, sub-accounts, workflows, and segments. It is the fit for organizations whose team or campaign structure would exceed Essential's limits, but the step up in price needs to be weighed against those expanded allowances. CallHub's pricing note starts from $0.04.

Platforms

CallHub supports Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, web, and API access. Mobile users need Android 10 or later or iOS 12 or later; browser calling is recommended in Chrome.

Who it's for

CallHub is strongest for advocacy, nonprofit, and other campaign teams coordinating phone banking with text, voice, or email outreach. Essential is better suited to teams that can work within its contact, agent, team-member, and workflow caps. Organizations with larger rosters or many concurrent campaigns should consider Scale, while teams that only need a single messaging channel may find CallHub broader than necessary.

Pros and cons

Pros: Multiple dialing modes, branching scripts, inbound calling, and patch-through support structured phone campaigns.
Pros: Peer-to-peer texting includes trackable links, surveys, filtering, and data integration, alongside broadcast and email options.
Pros: Essential provides a defined starting set of contacts, agents, team members, workflows, and segments, with free credits to begin.
Cons: Essential caps teams at 10 agents and five team members, and limits them to three workflows and three segments.
Cons: Scale removes those limits but uses custom pricing, so teams must assess fit before committing.

Alternatives

Nonprofit Text Messaging Software, Peer-to-Peer Texting Software, Voice Broadcasting Software, Predictive Dialer Software, SMS Marketing Software, and Nonprofit Marketing Software are category lists for comparing options by outreach need.

Choose Text-Em-All (formerly Call-Em-All) if you want a freemium option with 25 free credits for voice-broadcast testing and test texting to your own number; mass texting requires an upgrade. Sinch Engage is an alternative with SMS-focused plans ranging from 3,000 SMS per month and one user to 10,000 SMS per month and two users. Text Request is an alternative with a $575.00 USD per month Enterprise plan that includes 20,000 texts and 10 dashboards, with additional texts at $0.032 each.

TXTPass, Beetexting, Rally Corp Peer-to-Peer Texting, Text In Church, and Textline are also alternatives.

Verdict

CallHub is a strong choice for campaign teams that need phone banking and several digital outreach channels in one platform, especially when its integrations and workflow tools suit their organizing process. The main reason to look elsewhere is scale or simplicity: Essential has tight team and workflow ceilings, Scale uses custom pricing, and a team seeking only one messaging function may not need the wider toolkit.
