Overview

Double-entry accounting underpins REI Hub, with Profit and Loss, Statement of Cash Flows, and Balance Sheet reports. The service reports by property or unit on every plan and can generate a Schedule E report for each property. Owner statements, bank reconciliation, tenant charges, and both accounting bases are supported, making the product more than a simple income-and-expense tracker.

Key features

Property books and tax reporting

Property- and unit-level reporting helps investors separate performance across a portfolio, while Schedule E reporting is tailored to US rental-property tax needs. The Free plans include revenue and expense tracking, real-estate categorization, loan and fixed-asset tracking, and Schedule E and tax reports. That is a meaningful starting toolkit, though automatic transaction imports and booking rules are reserved for Professional.

Transaction and rental-income imports

Bank and credit-card feeds come through Plaid and Yodlee as read-only transactions. REI Hub says it does not receive users’ bank credentials through those providers, a useful distinction for investors connecting financial accounts. TurboTenant and RentRedi integrations import property and payment information; Airbnb and VRBO payout statements support short-term and vacation rentals.

Security and support

REI Hub says it uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to help protect personal information. Customers can reach support by email or by phone at (888) 939-6865 during 9am–5pm EST business hours.

Pricing

REI Hub has free plans and a 14-day trial. The Free tiers scale from up to 3 units to unlimited units and include revenue and expense tracking, real-estate-specific categorization, loan and fixed-asset tracking, and Schedule E and tax reports. Their prices are custom pricing. Because the listed Free features omit automatic transaction imports and booking rules, owners who want those conveniences need to consider Professional.

Professional adds automatic transaction import and automatic booking rules alongside revenue and expense tracking and loan and fixed-asset tracking. The annual prices are 9.00 USD per year for up to 3 units, 15.00 USD per year for up to 10, 27.00 USD per year for up to 20, and 48.00 USD per year for unlimited units. The unit caps make the tiers easy to match to portfolio size; the unlimited tier avoids a unit ceiling. All four prices are billed annually.

Platforms

REI Hub is available on web, Android, and iOS. Its mobile apps are companions to the web version rather than full replacements, so users who need every function should plan to use the web product.

Who it's for

REI Hub fits US rental owners, real estate investors, and finance professionals who prioritize property-level accounting, financial statements, and Schedule E reporting. It also accommodates short-term rental income imports. It is not the right choice for investors who need multiple currencies: it supports and displays only US dollars and cannot convert currencies. Nor is it a substitute for property-management software; it does not provide rent collection, listing services, tenant management or screening, or maintenance coordination.

Pros and cons

Pros: Property- and unit-level reports are included on every plan, and Schedule E reports address a specific US landlord accounting need.
Pros: Bank feeds, partner imports, and Airbnb and VRBO payout statements cover several common routes for bringing rental transactions into the books.
Cons: Professional is required for automatic transaction imports and booking rules, so Free users give up those automation features.
Cons: US-dollar-only accounting and the absence of tenant-facing management features make it unsuitable for international portfolios or owners seeking an all-in-one operations platform.

Alternatives

Choose Hemlane if advertising rentals, screening applicants and tenants, and rental accounting in a free plan matter more than REI Hub’s accounting emphasis; its Starter plan is free forever and requires no credit card.

Brikone is another freemium option, with a free Landlord plan for up to 3 units and web, mobile, and API platforms. Consider Landlord Studio if its Go plan’s 3-unit, one-user, and 10-document limits suit your needs; it includes standard reports and standard chat and email support.

Hutstack Property has a free tier for landlords managing 1–10 properties, with rent tracking, tenant records, lease reminders, maintenance requests, expense tracking, and an owner dashboard. For a paid property-management platform with pricing available by sales contact, consider Entrata. RealPage OneSite is a paid option whose pricing depends on unit count and asset types.

For construction and real-estate needs, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate offers subscription pricing by request. PROMAS The Professional Landlord is another paid alternative, with a 30-unit monthly lease plan at 60.00 USD per month. Browse the Property Accounting Software list for more options.

Verdict

REI Hub is a strong fit for US rental investors who want double-entry books, property-level reporting, and Schedule E output without needing tenant operations in the same product. Choose it for that accounting focus and its integrations; look elsewhere if you need currency flexibility or software to handle leasing, collections, tenants, and maintenance.
