Overview

Beamer is an embeddable way for product and marketing teams to publish updates, target user groups, and collect feedback. It is strongest when announcements and a public-facing feedback process belong in the same tool; teams that only need lightweight feedback may find its audience-based pricing more than they need.

Its changelog and notification center put product updates in front of users, while its Feedback product supports ideas and roadmap discussion. Beamer was founded in 2018 and is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado; it supports Android, iOS, web, and API use.

Key features

Announcements and targeting

Boosted announcements can appear as pop-ups, top bars, snippets, or tooltips. Basic segmentation suits straightforward audience splits, while advanced AND/OR rules offer more control over who sees each message. Push notifications can reach users who are offline on a site or app, extending announcements beyond the moments when users are actively browsing.

Feedback and integrations

The ideas portal and roadmap let users submit suggestions, vote, and comment. Beamer also lists in-app feedback, feature requests, NPS surveys, and sentiment analysis. NPS and Feedback are separate $99.00 USD per month add-ons, so teams wanting the broader feedback toolkit should account for those costs rather than assume every capability is included in the base plan.

Installation options include an HTML/JavaScript embed, WordPress plugin, Google Tag Manager, or API. Listed integrations include Zapier, Segment, webhooks, social sharing, and a WordPress plugin. The range gives teams several ways to fit Beamer into an existing site or workflow, though the most suitable option will depend on their implementation.

Security and service

Beamer states that it is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant, encrypts data in transit and at rest, backs up customer data, and maintains uptime over 99.9%. Those commitments may matter to teams assessing a customer-facing tool for production use. Support varies by plan, from basic through enterprise.

Pricing

Beamer has a free plan, a 14-day trial, and paid plans. The headline paid starting price is $49/mo with annual billing. The plan figures below are presented per month; Starter, Pro, and Scale allow monthly or yearly billing.

Plan	Price	Included limits and support
Free	0.00 USD per free	1,000 MAUs, 1 teammate, 1 language, 0 API requests/month, and a watermark
Starter	5949.00 USD per month	5,000 MAUs, unlimited teammates, 2,000 API requests/month, standard support
Pro	11999.00 USD per month	10,000 MAUs, unlimited teammates, 20,000 API requests/month, 5,000 emails/month, advanced support
Scale	299249.00 USD per month	50,000 MAUs, unlimited teammates, 100,000 API requests/month, 20,000 emails/month, priority support
Custom	Custom pricing	Custom MAUs, unlimited teammates, custom API limit and email volume, enterprise support

The Free plan is useful for a small audience or an initial evaluation, but its single teammate, one language, zero monthly API requests, and watermark make it restrictive for a team rollout. Starter removes the teammate ceiling and raises the audience and API allowances, making it a better fit for a small team that needs standard support. Pro adds substantially larger API and email quotas and advanced support; Scale is aimed at higher-volume teams needing still more capacity and priority support. Custom is the route for organizations needing tailored volumes and enterprise support.

The NPS add-on costs 99.00 USD per month and includes in-app, email, and linked surveys, advanced analytics, and advanced segmentation. The Feedback add-on also costs 99.00 USD per month and includes in-app feedback collection and moderation plus public and private roadmaps. These costs matter for teams that expect surveys or fuller feedback workflows. If an account exceeds its included MAUs, Beamer automatically adds bundles at $50/month per additional 5,000 MAUs, so audience growth can raise the bill beyond the selected plan.

Platforms

Beamer supports Android, iOS, web, and API. The combination of app and web platforms, along with embed, tag manager, plugin, and API installation options, suits teams communicating across more than one user touchpoint.

Who it's for

Beamer is a good fit for product and marketing teams that regularly announce changes, need to target different user groups, and want a channel for collecting ideas alongside those updates. Teams with substantial audiences should weigh MAU bundles and email or API quotas before settling on a plan. It is less compelling for a small group that needs only a simple feedback board, particularly if the free plan's one-seat and watermark limits are a poor fit.

Pros and cons

Pros: Multiple announcement formats and advanced AND/OR segmentation help teams tailor updates rather than broadcast every message to everyone.
Pros: An ideas portal, roadmap, and feedback capabilities sit alongside announcements, connecting product communication with user input.
Pros: Installation and integration options span embeds, WordPress, Google Tag Manager, API, Zapier, Segment, and webhooks.
Cons: Free is capped at one teammate and one language, carries a watermark, and allows no monthly API requests, limiting its usefulness for a growing team.
Cons: NPS and Feedback each add 99.00 USD per month, which makes the complete feedback offering a material extra cost.
Cons: MAU overages are billed in automatic $50/month bundles per additional 5,000 MAUs, so rapid audience growth can increase spend.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, browse Product Management Software or Customer Feedback Software.

Featurebase is worth comparing if a forever-free option with unlimited conversations and included Feedback is more important than Beamer's announcement formats and audience targeting; its free plan has one seat and does not support AI.

Pendo Analytics is an alternative for teams prioritizing product analytics and in-app guides, with a free plan capped at 500 monthly active users. airfocus is another product-management option, with a paid model and no free plan or trial. PrioSmith may suit teams looking for a paid product workshop tool; its Spark plan is $5.00 USD per month and has no feedback-activity cap.

Featul offers a free web plan with three team members, five boards, and a public feedback portal, roadmap, and changelog, making it a focused alternative for teams centered on those functions. Sleekplan has a free-forever Indie plan with unlimited feedback and subscribers, a feedback board and changelog, and no team seats, which favors solo use over a collaborative team. Tempo Portfolio Manager is a web-based alternative for project and task management, with a free plan for 10 members, three projects, and 300 tasks. Canny offers a free plan with 25 tracked users and unlimited feedback, a useful point of comparison for teams focused on feedback collection.

Verdict

Choose Beamer if your product or marketing team needs targeted announcements and user feedback in one embeddable tool, and its MAU-based plans fit your audience. Its announcement flexibility and feedback portal make a coherent combination; look elsewhere if a free, team-friendly feedback tool is the priority or if the add-on costs and automatic MAU bundles do not suit your budget.
