Overview

Evoto brings shooting, culling, retouching, and delivery together across photo, instant-workflow, and video products. The photo editor combines portrait retouching with background and color adjustments, RAW processing, and batch tools. Watched folders, fully automated batch processing, bulk renaming, and resizing address recurring production tasks, while exports can be JPG, TIFF, PNG, or the original format.

Evoto says its per-face retouching can smooth skin and remove blemishes while preserving natural texture. Basic color adjustments, cropping, and file management are free; most other features consume one credit per exported image, and some advanced generative tools may cost more. The credit price appears before use, which helps users weigh an edit before export, but makes volume a central budget consideration.

Lightroom Classic users can send individual images to Evoto and import or export Lightroom catalogs. Evoto says most features upload images to its cloud for analysis and processing, then delete them immediately afterward; some features store data with prior consent. The company identifies ISO/IEC 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 among its certifications and attestations, and says it will not use customer images to train AI without explicit consent. Photographers with strict local-processing requirements should factor the cloud workflow into their choice.

Key features

Portrait retouching: Per-face skin smoothing and blemish removal are aimed at portrait jobs where natural texture matters. They are less compelling for users seeking an editor without per-image credit costs.
Batch workflow: Watched folders, fully automated batch processing, RAW support, and bulk renaming and resizing can reduce repetitive handling on high-volume jobs.
Export and integration: JPG, TIFF, PNG, and original-format output cover common delivery needs. Lightroom Classic catalog import and export, plus sending individual images to Evoto, make it easier to slot into an existing Lightroom workflow.
Free basics: Color adjustments, cropping, and file management do not require credits, offering a way to handle simple work without a paid plan.

Pricing

Evoto offers a one-time 7-day free trial with 50 credits for trying full features. That is a useful short evaluation window, but it does not establish the cost of a sustained, high-volume workflow. Most features charge one credit per exported image, with higher costs possible for some generative tools.

Plan	Price and allowance	Best fit
Starter	89.00 USD per year, billed annually; 800 credits; 2 devices	Occasional paid use or a solo photographer with modest export needs.
Basic	149.00 USD per year, billed annually; 1,600 credits; 3 devices	Regular use with a larger allowance and one additional device.
Basic Plus	269.00 USD per year, billed annually; 3,600 credits; 4 devices	More frequent batch work that would strain the entry tiers.
Standard	579.00 USD per year, billed annually; 9,000 credits; 5 devices	Photographers with substantial recurring export volume.
Standard Plus	1339.00 USD per year, billed annually; 24,000 credits; 6 devices	Very high-volume workflows that can use the larger credit pool.
Pay-as-You-Go	Custom pricing; purchase credits as needed, which expire after 2 years.	Users who prefer not to choose an annual credit allowance.
Enterprise	Custom pricing; customized enterprise plans.	Organizations seeking a tailored plan.

The annual tiers scale both credits and device allowance, so a larger pool may suit multi-device production, while the cheaper tiers constrain exports and device use. The free basics avoid those credit charges only for simple adjustments, cropping, and file management. Evoto also offers annual “Plan” tiers: Starter Plan-800 at 80.00 USD per year, Basic Plan-1600 at 134.00 USD per year, Basic Plus Plan-3600 at 242.00 USD per year, Standard Plan-9000 at 521.00 USD per year, and Standard Plus Plan-24000 at 1205.00 USD per year, all billed annually. They match the corresponding credit and device allowances above and add credits that roll over with the subscription and Asset Hub Membership; those additions make them the more appealing choice for subscribers who value rollover or the membership.

Platforms

Evoto supports web, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, with an app also listed for iPadOS. Desktop downloads support macOS 10.13 and above and Windows 7, 10, and 11. This range accommodates desktop editing and mobile access, though cloud processing remains part of most features.

Who it's for

Evoto positions its photo editor for professional photographers, Evoto Instant for high-volume photographers, and Evoto Video for creators and photographers moving into video. Its strongest case is portrait and batch work where automated processing and Lightroom Classic workflows matter. A user who mainly needs occasional free adjustments can stay with the basic tools; someone uncomfortable uploading images or budgeting by export credits should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Automated batch tools, watched folders, RAW processing, and bulk file operations support repeated photography jobs.
Pros: Free basic adjustments, cropping, and file management let users handle straightforward edits without credits.
Pros: Lightroom Classic catalog support gives existing Lightroom users a direct workflow bridge.
Cons: Most feature exports consume credits, and some advanced generative tools cost more, complicating budgets for large jobs.
Cons: Most features process images in the cloud, a poor fit for photographers who require local processing.
Cons: The annual plans impose credit and device ceilings, while pay-as-you-go credits expire after two years.

Verdict

Evoto AI is a strong fit for portrait and high-volume photographers who want automated batch handling, per-face retouching, and a Lightroom Classic connection. Its free basics and tiered credit pools provide options for light and heavy use, but the credit cost per export and cloud processing are the decisive tradeoffs. Choose it when those workflow gains justify the annual allowance; look elsewhere if predictable uncapped exporting or local processing is a priority.
