Overview

Linearity Curve is a design app for illustration, image editing, presentations, and PDF work, with native apps for iPad, Mac, and iPhone. It is best suited to people who want vector and raster tools alongside document and brand-asset workflows. Its strongest case is the breadth of those tools, while teams that need real-time co-editing should look elsewhere.

Key features

Curve combines vector and raster editing with illustration tools, AI background removal, AI Grab, and Magic Eraser. That range lets designers work on artwork and image cleanup in one app. Templates and brand kits help maintain consistency across recurring projects; the free plan's single basic brand kit is a useful starting point, but its 250 lifetime credits make it a limited option for ongoing credit-based work.

PDFs can be opened as native Curve files and edited, transformed, annotated, or signed. Exports include PDF, SVG, EPS, and other print and digital formats, making Curve relevant beyond illustration alone. Integrations with Brandfetch, Unsplash, SF Symbols, Icons8, Figma, Illustrator, and Sketch give designers ways to bring in assets and connect existing design work.

Personal, team, and client workspaces support switching contexts and sharing files across devices. Core design features, local files, and exports work offline, which is useful when connectivity is unreliable; cloud features may be limited offline. Files are not used for AI training unless a user explicitly opts in within the application.

Pricing

The Free plan costs $0.00 USD per free, requires no credit card, and includes 250 lifetime credits, one basic brand kit, and 5 GB of cloud storage. It is a low-commitment way to try Curve, but the lifetime credit pool and smaller storage allowance make it less suited to sustained, resource-intensive work.

Starter costs $8.00 USD per month, billed annually, and provides 800 credits per month and 10 GB of storage. It fits users who need a recurring credit allowance at the lowest paid price, though its storage is modest. Pro also costs $8.00 USD per month billed annually, with monthly billing shown at $10 per editor/month. For individuals, it raises the allowance to 3,250 credits per month and 100 GB of storage, making it the more capable individual tier for ongoing work.

Business costs $65.00 USD per month billed annually; monthly billing is shown at $80 per editor/month. Its 6,500 monthly credits and 500 GB storage target teams needing advanced controls and governance. Studio costs $25.00 USD per editor/month billed annually, or $30 per editor/month with monthly billing, and is described for teams creating together in real time. That offering sits uneasily beside Curve's stated lack of real-time collaboration, so teams should confirm the workflow meets their needs before choosing it.

Enterprise has custom pricing and contract terms, with org-shared credits, export permissions, team onboarding, an account manager, and SSO. Students, teachers, schools, and institutions save 58% on the yearly Pro Plan. Online payment accepts major credit cards; invoicing is available for Org plan. A 7-day trial is offered. The stated prices do not describe trial conversion or renewal terms.

Platforms

Curve runs on iPadOS 14 or macOS Big Sur and later, with native iPad, Mac, and iPhone apps. Its Apple-device focus is a good fit for people working across those platforms, but not for readers who need a Windows or Android app. Support resources include a help center, user guides, tutorials, templates, and a status page.

Who it's for

Curve suits illustrators and designers who need vector and raster editing, brand assets, and flexible PDF handling in one toolkit. Its offline-capable core and Apple apps also make it practical for individuals working across iPad and Mac. Teams can use shared workspaces, but those needing dependable real-time collaboration should assess alternatives rather than assume the Studio plan resolves the stated limitation.

Pros and cons

Pros: Vector and raster editing, illustration, and PDF tools sit together, reducing the need to move between separate apps for those tasks.
Pros: Offline support for core design, local files, and exports helps keep work moving without a connection.
Pros: The free tier needs no card and includes a basic brand kit and cloud storage, so users can start without paying.
Cons: The free plan's 250 credits are lifetime credits, not a monthly allowance, limiting its usefulness for continuing credit-heavy work.
Cons: Real-time collaboration is stated as unavailable, a meaningful constraint for teams that co-edit live.
Cons: Native support is centered on iPad, Mac, and iPhone, leaving Windows- and Android-first users without a listed native app.

Verdict

Choose Linearity Curve if you want illustration, image editing, and PDF handling in one Apple-focused app, with offline-capable core features and a no-card free tier. Its broad toolkit is the main reason to choose it; the lack of real-time collaboration is the clearest reason teams that co-edit live should look elsewhere.
