Overview

NX combines visual, model-driven application composition with workflow automation and integration. Teams can build and run solutions without compilation or a virtual machine, while pro-code support leaves room for more technical development. AgilePoint describes the platform as an operational layer for connecting enterprise systems and AI under governance.

More than 1,200 reusable capability assets span over 120 systems and internally developed assets. The integration catalog includes Salesforce, SAP, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Jira, UiPath, OpenAI, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and AWS services. AgilePoint was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Mountain View, California.

Key features

Workflows that can change in flight

Teams can roll back, skip, suspend, resume, split, merge, or partially rework an orchestration at runtime, and migrate work in flight, without redeployment or recompilation. That is a meaningful advantage for processes whose path can change after launch. It also makes NX more compelling for organizations with active process ownership than for teams seeking only a fixed, simple workflow.

Application composition and AI

NX v10 can generate application experiences from images, PDFs, mockups, documents, and external data sources. Its MCP Server lets compatible AI agents trigger AgilePoint workflows without custom integration code, while the AI Control Tower supports public and private model strategies and provides governance, observability, and control over AI-driven process behavior. AgilePoint is pursuing ISO 42001 certification; that is not the same as holding the certification.

Security and deployment

Field-level encryption with customer-managed keys and API key management address security needs around data and external tools. NX v10 is offered on-premises, in private cloud, and as SaaS; pricing also describes public cloud and hybrid deployment options. That range suits organizations with varied hosting requirements, though the more complex options make NX a substantial platform choice rather than a lightweight app builder.

Pricing

AgilePoint uses freemium pricing, offers a 30-day trial, and has paid options starting at $39/user/mo. The plan structures differ, so the headline starting price does not capture the minimum commitment or licensing model for every team.

Plan	Price and terms	What it suits
Community Edition	Price not listed; up to 25 named users and 2 applications; community-based support.	A small team evaluating or running a limited number of applications. The two-app cap and community support limit its use as a broader departmental platform.
Standard Edition	39.00 USD per month per named user; minimum 50 seats. Core connectors, SSO, public or private cloud or on-premises deployment, and standard 9–5 support.	Organizations needing core integrations and SSO. The 50-seat floor means the entry price is not practical for a small group buying only a handful of seats.
Professional Edition	195.00 USD per month per DCA seat, or $59 per named seat; minimum 35 seats. Advanced connectors, Mobile App Builder, Analytic Center, public or private cloud or on-premises deployment, and optional 24/7 support. DCA seats are shared 10–25×.	Teams that need advanced connectors and mobile app building, or can benefit from shared-seat licensing across users. The 35-seat minimum and higher per-seat price raise the bar over Standard.
Enterprise Edition	19950.00 USD per month per production CPU core; minimum 2 cores. Unlimited managed users, advanced connectors and clustering, two non-production environments, hybrid private cloud and on-premises deployment, and optional 24/7 support.	Enterprise-wide deployments where unlimited managed users and production-core licensing make sense. Its minimum two-core commitment and price put it well beyond ordinary team budgets.

Other licensing options include Anonymous External Users, with usage-based licensing, secure interaction with unmanaged identities, and no seat allocation; a Named User Seat at 39.00 USD per month, with a minimum of 50 seats and one identity per perpetual seat; and Dynamic Concurrent Access at 195.00 USD per month starting price, with volume discounts, shared seats for humans and AI agents, and an average of 10–25 users per seat. The CPU Core option is 19950.00 USD per month, with a minimum of two production cores and unlimited managed users; clustering and HA support are included. Standard has 9–5 support, while Professional and Enterprise offer optional 24/7 support.

Platforms

AgilePoint NX supports Android, iOS, web, Windows, API access, and self-hosted deployment. Combined with hybrid, cloud, and on-premises choices, that breadth favors organizations connecting applications across different environments.

Who it's for

NX is best suited to organizations that need adaptable workflows, broad system integration, and governance for AI-driven processes, and can meet its seat or CPU-core minimums. It is less suited to a small business looking for inexpensive per-user automation or a team needing only a couple of applications without enterprise controls.

Pros and cons

Pros: Runtime changes can redirect or revise work without redeployment, giving process owners options when operations shift.
Pros: A catalog spanning more than 120 systems and 1,200-plus reusable assets can reduce the need to assemble every integration capability from scratch.
Pros: AI generation, MCP-triggered workflows, and model governance bring application creation and process oversight into the same platform.
Cons: Standard requires 50 seats and Professional 35, making the lower per-user prices less accessible to small teams.
Cons: Enterprise starts at two production CPU cores at 19950.00 USD per month per core, a significant commitment for unlimited-user licensing.
Cons: Community Edition is capped at 25 named users and 2 applications and relies on community-based support.

Alternatives

For a lighter diagramming option, HEFLO has a free Academic plan for cloud-stored diagrams, image downloads, import/export, and Reddit community support; it is not positioned here as a substitute for NX's enterprise orchestration scope.

BP Logix Process Director is a paid alternative for readers comparing process software across Android, iOS, self-hosted, and web platforms.

Decisions is worth comparing for readers seeking a paid low-code platform with a free plan and Foundation capabilities that include a low-code design studio and standard agentic AI and agent-builder features.

Flowable is a freemium alternative with a free plan and trial; its engines are Apache 2.0 licensed and written in Java, which may suit readers who value open-source engines.

WorkflowGen is another paid option, with pricing tailored to requirements and provided by quote.

Nintex Automation CE is a paid alternative with a free trial and no free plan.

AuraQuantic is a paid option without a free plan; its Starter plan requires at least 20 users.

Cflow is a paid alternative with a free trial; its Joy plan costs 22.00 USD per month, billed monthly, for 10–20 users and up to 20 workflows.

Readers can also compare the broader Business Process Management Software, Low-Code Development Platforms, and No-code app builders categories.

Verdict

Choose AgilePoint NX if your organization needs workflows that can change during execution, broad integrations, and governed AI orchestration, and can support its minimum seat or core commitments. Its strongest case is the combination of runtime adaptability and enterprise controls; look elsewhere if you need low-cost automation for a small team or a narrowly scoped app builder.
