Overview

ABC Trainerize is a fitness coaching platform for trainers who want to deliver programs and manage client communication, progress, and billing together. It is most compelling for coaches who expect to grow beyond a handful of clients; the free and $9.00 USD per month tiers are tightly capped.

Key features

Programs and client management

Workout programming and delivery are paired with a client portal, goals and progress tools, forms, and assessments. That breadth supports ongoing coaching rather than workout tracking alone. The seat limits matter, though: Basic covers one client, Grow covers two, and the stated Pro range begins at five clients.

Communication and sessions

In-app messaging has basic and advanced options by plan. Scheduling spans appointments, classes, and calendar sync, while Video Coaching supports live and on-demand classes and virtual sessions. Group coaching and class scheduling make Trainerize a better fit for coaches running shared sessions as well as one-to-one programs.

Billing and integrations

Integrated payment processing and Stripe integration give coaches billing tools within the platform. Grow includes integrations with client apps and wearables, a useful addition for coaches who want client activity data connected to their workflow.

Pricing

Basic is free and includes one client seat, so it suits a solo coach trying the workflow with a single client, not a growing roster. Grow costs 9.00 USD per month and includes two seats; its low entry price comes with a hard ceiling that may force an upgrade quickly.

Pro is priced at 23.00 USD per month and supports 5 to 200 client seats, making it the more practical option for established independent trainers. Studio Plus costs 248.00 USD per month, with custom pricing for each added location; it is aimed at larger operations, with 500 to 1,000+ client seats and five or more locations. Annual plans are billed once per year. A 30-day trial includes unlimited clients and requires no credit card, giving coaches room to evaluate the platform beyond the small free-plan cap. Prices are in USD and may be subject to applicable taxes.

Platforms

The mobile app is available for iOS and Android. The platform also supports a client portal, wearable sync, and scheduling tools including calendar sync.

Who it's for

Trainerize suits personal trainers and coaching businesses that need programs, messaging, scheduling, progress tools, payments, and group coaching in one service. Its reach—reported as 400k+ trainers and coaches, 45k+ businesses, and 1.6M+ clients—signals a platform designed for a broad coaching market. Coaches who need more than two seats should compare the $23.00 USD per month Pro entry point with their roster needs; organizations with multiple locations may find Studio Plus more relevant. It is less attractive for a coach seeking a generous free client allowance.

Pros and cons

Pros: Workout delivery, client progress tools, messaging, scheduling, and payment processing cover much of the coaching workflow in one platform.
Pros: The no-card, 30-day trial includes unlimited clients, so capacity does not constrain evaluation.
Cons: Basic allows only one client and Grow only two, limiting the usefulness of the lowest-cost tiers for active coaches.
Cons: Studio Plus has a substantial listed monthly price and custom charges for added locations, making it a significant commitment for multi-site businesses.

Alternatives

My PT Hub is worth considering if you want a freemium service with web access; its Starter plan is 22.50 USD per month when billed annually and paid monthly, and includes three clients, 50 workouts, and 50 nutrition plans.

FitSW offers a free plan and a Premium for Trainers plan at 16.66 USD per month, with a selectable client limit from five to 1,000; it may suit coaches prioritizing a higher adjustable roster ceiling.

Everfit has a free Starter tier for up to five clients, so it is a relevant alternative for a small roster that exceeds Trainerize Basic's single seat.

PT Distinction is a paid alternative with a Basic plan at 19.90 USD per month for three clients; it may fit a coach who needs one more client slot than Trainerize Grow provides.

Traneos offers a free plan for up to five clients and includes basic client and progress tracking, making it another option for coaches seeking more free seats.

Quenza is a paid alternative with a Spark plan listed at 20.00 USD per month, supporting 10 clients and including a content library of 100+ activities.

TrueCoach is an alternative with paid plans organized around active-client limits.

CoachRx is an alternative with paid plans organized by client-count tiers.

Verdict

ABC Trainerize is a strong choice for trainers who want client programs, communication, scheduling, and billing under one roof, especially when their roster is large enough to justify Pro. The deciding drawback is capacity at the bottom end: Basic and Grow are capped at one and two seats, so coaches who need a wider free allowance should look elsewhere.
