Overview

3DBAE suits teams that need to turn product models into interactive, publishable scenes rather than simply store or display 3D assets. Its browser workspace joins visual creation, configurator controls and embedded viewers; the Hobby plan is useful for a small trial, but serious projects will need a paid tier.

Key features

Visual workflows and AI

Canvas connects images and prompts with AI tools for product imagery, video and image-to-3D generation. That breadth can help teams move from visual inputs toward a product scene in one workspace. AI features send the required inputs and settings to configured model infrastructure, potentially including prompts, reference media and a relevant snapshot of project state. Teams handling sensitive product material should account for that data flow before using AI.

Configurator and publishing

The configurator supports material and model variants, hotspots, animation, on-screen controls and interaction logic. This is a stronger fit for products that benefit from customer-led exploration than for teams needing only static renders. A JavaScript Model API gives developers another way to work with configurator projects. Published viewers can be embedded by iframe, and supported scenes can open in AR on iPhone or Android.

Asset workflows and integrations

3DBAE lists 12 import formats and 8 export formats, including GLB, glTF, FBX, OBJ, USDZ, STL, PLY, SPLAT, SPZ and SOG. That range is useful across varied 3D workflows, though teams should confirm that their particular assets fit the supported formats. Live Link connects Autodesk 3ds Max 2024–2027 on 64-bit Windows to a browser project and syncs the exportable scene. The Platform MCP server connects compatible AI clients through OAuth and task-approved scopes.

Privacy and sharing

Projects remain private unless shared or published. Public viewer links and embeds make the scene and necessary rendering files accessible to people with the link, so publication is not appropriate for confidential work. 3DBAE says it uses access controls, scoped authorization, encryption in transit, credential hashing, signed asset access and logging. Support requests may involve processing contact details, messages and any files or diagnostic information provided.

Pricing

Hobby costs 0.00 USD per month, billed Free forever. It provides 100 MB storage, one project, up to two models and two environment assets, and no AI credits. That is a constrained starting point for evaluating a small scene, not a workable home for a growing catalog or AI-dependent workflow.

Professional costs 12.00 USD per month and includes 5 GB storage, unlimited projects and configurator assets, plus 1,000 AI credits/month. It is the lowest paid tier and the clearest fit for individual or small-scale configurator work, although the storage and credit allowance still bound heavier use.

Creator AI costs 24.00 USD per month, with 10 GB storage, 15,000 AI credits/month, two parallel generations and team collaboration. It suits teams producing AI-assisted assets more regularly; extra seats are sold separately, so the displayed price does not cover every collaborator.

Studio AI costs 59.00 USD per month and includes 50 GB storage, 36,000 AI credits/month, four parallel generations and a 10% bonus on credit packs. It is the strongest fit for larger, more concurrent AI workflows. Hobby has no AI credits, while higher paid tiers chiefly raise storage and generation capacity; no annual billing terms are stated.

Platforms

3DBAE lists web, Android, iOS, Windows and API platforms. The browser workspace supports authoring and publishing, while the 3ds Max Live Link is specifically for 64-bit Windows and the stated 3ds Max versions.

Who it's for

E-commerce businesses, product manufacturers, 3D studios, designers and marketing teams are the intended audience. It is particularly apt for teams that need configurable product presentations, embedded viewers or supported AR scenes, and that can make use of the browser-based workflow. A team seeking only a basic viewer, or unwilling to share assets with configured AI infrastructure, may find its broader toolset unnecessary.

Pros and cons

Pros

One workspace spans creation and presentation: Canvas workflows, configurator features, embeds and supported AR scenes cover more of the product-experience process than a viewer alone.
Useful configurator depth: Variants, hotspots, animation, interaction logic and a JavaScript Model API serve both customer-facing scenes and developer-led projects.
Multiple capacity tiers: Paid plans scale from 1,000 to 36,000 monthly AI credits, with more storage and parallel generations at higher levels.

Cons

Hobby is tightly capped: One project, two models, two environment assets and no AI credits make it unsuitable for sustained or AI-heavy work.
Team costs can rise: Creator AI collaboration includes extra seats sold separately.
AI involves project data: Prompts, reference media and relevant project-state snapshots may be sent to model infrastructure when AI features are used.

Alternatives

Cylindo is a paid option with custom pricing tailored to business needs, catalog size and sales channels; consider it when quote-based pricing and those business dimensions are the relevant fit. For a defined monthly entry point and a free tier, 3DBAE is the more accessible starting point.

3D Product Config is worth considering when a paid, trial-backed configurator with a stated Starter plan at 29.00 USD per month is preferable; 3DBAE offers a free plan and a lower paid entry point.

Mazing is a paid, trial-backed alternative with a Starter plan at 9900.00 USD per month and stated hosted 3D/AR models plus AI model, rendering and video allowances. Choose it when those packaged allowances align better with the project; 3DBAE has the lower stated paid entry point.

INHAABIT is another option for web, iOS and Android.

TARDIS offers a free plan and runs on web, iOS and Android.

Spellexo offers a free plan and runs on web, iOS and Android.

GingXR is a paid option for web, iOS and Android.

Roomvo has a free Roomvo Assistant for independent retailers, with availability dependent on products from approved brand partners; choose it when that room-visualizer use case fits.

Verdict

Choose 3DBAE if you need configurable 3D product scenes that can move from visual workflows to website embeds and supported AR, with paid plans scaling AI capacity. Its main appeal is that combination in a browser workspace; look elsewhere if the Hobby caps are too restrictive, AI data handling is unsuitable, or your team needs seats included in the Creator AI price.
