Overview

1up is built for teams that repeatedly answer RFPs, security questionnaires, and other customer questions, especially sales and Infosec teams. Its central advantage is connecting answer drafting with shared review and approval workflows; the trade-off is that the most defined team plans start at $300 per month.

Teams can draw on company knowledge to prepare answers, then assign and review the work rather than treating each questionnaire as a solo drafting task. That combination suits organizations with recurring requests and established internal material, but may be more than a team with only occasional questionnaires needs.

Key features

Drafting from company knowledge

1up can use company websites, product documentation, earlier RFPs, Google Drive, and SharePoint to prepare responses. It accepts questionnaires in Word, Excel, Google Sheets, PDF, and web-based formats. That range helps teams work across common document and form types, while answer quality still depends on the usefulness of the source material.

Review and workflow

Teammates can edit and improve drafts, and the service remembers changes for similar questions. Teams can assign responses for review, set up approval workflows, and track questionnaire status. These controls are valuable when subject-matter review matters; they address coordination as well as drafting.

Language, browser, and security

1up says it can understand documents and generate responses in more than 20 languages. Its Chrome and Edge plugin can draft answers in web-based questionnaires, a practical option when work happens in browser forms. Named integrations include Google Drive, Confluence, SharePoint, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, and single sign-on providers including Okta, Azure, FusionAuth, and Ping Identity.

1up says it is SOC 2 Type II compliant, encrypts data at rest and in transit, and does not use uploaded documents to train AI models. Customers can choose US, EU, or AU availability zones and modify or delete uploaded data at any time. Completed responses can be exported as DOCX or PDF.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes one admin, 50 knowledge uploads, and 50 answers per month. It offers a way to try the workflow, but the monthly answer cap and single-admin allowance constrain ongoing team use.

MCP costs $50 per month, plus automation usage, and includes an MCP Server with pay-as-you-go questionnaire automations at $0.05 per question answered. This is the lowest paid entry point, but usage charges mean the monthly base price is not the full cost of automation.

Starter costs $300.00 USD per month and includes unlimited users and answers, Slack, Teams, Google Chat, and browser plugins, plus one questionnaire. It is the clearest fit for a team that needs shared drafting without a high questionnaire volume; unlimited answers do not remove the one-questionnaire allowance.

Plus costs $900.00 USD per month and includes everything in Starter, KB Plushie, Team Training, and six questionnaires. It suits teams handling more active questionnaires and seeking the added named services, but costs substantially more than Starter. Enterprise has custom pricing, includes everything in Plus, a dedicated success manager, and custom questionnaire volume. A 14-day trial is offered.

Platforms

1up is available on the web and as an extension for Chrome and Edge. The browser plugin is particularly relevant to teams responding directly in web questionnaires.

Who it's for

Sales teams answering repeated customer questions and Infosec teams managing security questionnaires are the clearest audience. It is best suited to organizations with reusable internal knowledge and enough questionnaire work to benefit from team review, approvals, and status tracking. A team with infrequent requests may find the paid questionnaire allowances difficult to justify.

Pros and cons

Pro: It combines knowledge-based drafting with edits that can inform similar future answers, helping teams build on prior response work.
Pro: Review assignments, approval workflows, and status tracking support shared accountability for responses.
Pro: Multiple document formats, web questionnaires, and more than 20 supported languages accommodate varied response work.
Con: The free plan's 50 monthly answers and one admin make it limited for a team workflow.
Con: Starter costs $300.00 USD per month for one questionnaire, while Plus costs $900.00 USD per month for six; teams should weigh those allowances against their workload.
Con: MCP adds $0.05 per question answered on top of its $50 monthly charge, so usage affects the total bill.

Alternatives

For a broader category comparison, see RFP Response Software.

Presel is worth considering if a seven-day Pro trial with no credit card is more useful than starting with 1up's free-plan caps.
Tenderbolt may suit teams that prefer pricing tailored to team size and RFP volume and are prepared to book a demo.
Tribble is an alternative for teams prioritizing source-cited drafts, confidence context, SME routing, and an audit trail.
BidGenie may fit a smaller team seeking a one-time trial of up to three RFPs per month and one team member, with a $99.00 USD per month Starter plan.
Responsive is an alternative for buyers considering an annual platform subscription starting at $10,000.
RFP Response Builder is an alternative for teams seeking Mac, Windows, and web platforms.
RFP.ai may appeal to teams comparing a €49 per month Starter plan with five users, unlimited projects, and a browser extension.
SiftHub is another option for questionnaire autofill across office formats and its web app.

Verdict

Choose 1up if your sales or Infosec team handles recurring questionnaires and needs knowledge-based drafting tied to review, approvals, and tracked progress. Its strongest case is the complete team workflow around reusable answers; look elsewhere if your volume is occasional or if a one-questionnaire Starter plan at $300.00 USD per month does not fit your budget.
