High-Resolution Course Feedback
What it is
High-Resolution Course Feedback (HRCF) is a web service for instructors who want a regular view of class mood and student feedback. Each week, it randomly selects students to respond, aiming to gather representative input while reducing survey fatigue. Requests go to students’ inboxes through unique survey links. The four default questions ask what students liked, what remains confusing, what the teaching team should know, and how they rate their course experience on a five-point scale. Instructors can add questions about specific topics each week. Surveys open Monday at noon PT, reminders go out Thursday at noon PT, and instructors receive a digest Sunday at 4pm PT. That digest includes participation rates, question-by-question responses with visualizations, and a graph of class mood over time. HRCF says it does not track which student submitted which feedback. Getting started involves an institutional-email account, a course survey form, and school profile and course ID review. While approval is pending, instructors can prepare the roster, questions, and admin list. The free course survey plan costs nothing.
