What it is
Evento is a free, open-source events platform for people coordinating communities and their activities. Hosts can password-protect events, build custom registration forms, approve RSVPs, and remove guests. They can also arrange nested sub-events, manage co-hosts, import guest lists from CSV, message guests, and send and track email campaigns. Profiles include bios, interests, prompts, follows, and displayed Lightning Addresses; the Events Hub gathers followed events, invitations, co-host requests, and a curated feed.
A built-in self-custodial wallet sends and receives Bitcoin over Lightning and on-chain. Hosts can accept Lightning payments for priced events by adding a Lightning Address in payment settings. Evento says payments are peer-to-peer and it takes no cut. The wallet is built on Breez and Spark, supports spending through Bitrefill, and offers access to Bitcoin buying and selling services. Developers can use a read-only Public API for event and user data or a no-auth Embed API for widgets; public API keys allow 1,000 requests per day. Evento is available on Android, iOS, web, and API.
