Dayheld is a voice-first journal for iPhone that also lets users type entries and search by word or date. Apple transcribes supported English locales on-device, and Dayheld says it does not upload recordings for transcription. Optional AI features include reflections, follow-up questions, weekly insights, Life in Review and cited recall. Ask can respond using matching entries and link back to them; version 1 does not promise meaning-only search. Users can import a Day One JSON export or dated text and Markdown files, and imported entries are not sent to AI. Journal and memory records are encrypted with a key kept in Keychain.
