ALTIBASE · Seoul, South Korea · founded 1999
What it is
ALTIBASE is a relational database management system that combines in-memory and on-disk databases in one engine. It can run in in-memory-only, on-disk-only, or hybrid modes, with features optimized for OLTP and OLAP workloads. Built-in replication supports synchronous or asynchronous consistency and Active-Active or Active-Standby service architectures. Listed interfaces include ODBC, JDBC, .NET and Entity Framework, OLEDB, Embedded SQL, CLI, Perl DBD, and PHP. ALTIBASE V7.3 lists migration support for Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Tibero, and CUBRID, plus DBeaver compatibility through plugins. Its tools cover querying, replication management, profiling, monitoring, migration, exporting, and data loading. Security capabilities include SSL/TLS communication, SQL auditing, password policies, IP access control, object privileges, and integration methods for third-party encryption solutions. ALTIBASE runs on Linux and supports self-hosted deployment. The free A+ Edition is for development, testing, and education, not commercial use; it is limited to 128 concurrent users, 10 GB of in-memory database, and 50 GB of disk database. Enterprise subscription pricing is available by contacting Altibase.
