Yes. You can upload AI-generated music to YouTube, but the music must comply with YouTube’s copyright and content rules, and permission to use a track depends on the generator’s license. AI use alone does not make a video ineligible for monetization. Mass-produced, repetitive or template-based uploads can still fail YouTube’s inauthentic-content monetization policy.
What YouTube’s Rules Mean For AI Music
Uploading A Track
YouTube’s inauthentic-content policy targets mass-produced, repetitive or template-based uploads, rather than AI use by itself. In practice, make the video meaningfully your own: give the music a clear purpose, create an individual visual or performance, and avoid publishing many near-identical tracks with only minor changes. YouTube clarified its inauthentic-content guidelines in July 2026, including generic or repetitive material.

YouTube requires creators to use its altered-or-synthetic-content label when a video contains realistic altered or synthetic material that could be mistaken for a real person’s performance. An obviously synthetic instrumental bed may not raise that specific issue; an AI voice presented as a real singer could. Check YouTube’s current disclosure flow when uploading, especially if a voice or performance sounds like an identifiable real person.
Monetization And Copyright Are Separate Questions
A generator’s commercial-use license may permit you to use a track in a monetized video, but it does not guarantee that YouTube will approve the channel or video for monetization. Copyright protection is a separate issue: the U.S. Copyright Office says material generated entirely by AI is not copyrightable, prompts alone do not make the user its author, and human-authored contributions to a mixed work may be protected. Applicants registering a work with more than a minimal amount of AI-generated material must disclose it and describe their human contribution.

Check The Track’s Permission Before Publishing
Read the generator’s current plan terms for the specific track and use. A free account, a paid plan, and a commercial-use license can have different permissions. Keep a copy of the applicable terms and any license certificate or generation record so you can identify the source if a rights question comes up.
- Suno: Suno says songs created as a paid subscriber can be used as background music in videos and for other uses. Its Free Plan does not include commercial rights, so do not assume a free-track license permits monetized use.
- Musicful: Musicful says a downloaded track comes with a non-exclusive, perpetual license for content such as videos that can be monetized, while Musicful retains ownership. Its terms also distinguish commercial use by plan; confirm the applicable plan and license for your download.
- Other generators: Licensing can vary by plan. Check the vendor’s current terms for YouTube use, monetization, attribution, downloads, and any restrictions before relying on a track.
For a voice that imitates or could be mistaken for a real person, get that person’s consent and check the generator’s terms as well as YouTube’s rules. The same care applies to covers, samples, and uploaded reference audio: having access to a recording does not by itself establish permission to use the underlying composition or performance.

A Practical Galaxy Phone Workflow
On a Samsung Galaxy phone, plan the music around the video before generating it. For example, for a short cooking clip, describe an instrumental bed with a calm mood, a light rhythm, and space for spoken instructions. For a phone walkthrough, ask for a restrained intro and a quieter bed beneath narration. Treat these as creative prompts, not guaranteed generator controls; check the tool’s site for supported prompt details, editing options, exports, and mobile availability.
- Write down the video’s length, mood, and where speech or important sounds need to remain clear.
- Generate a track using a service whose license covers your intended YouTube use, including monetization if relevant.
- Listen through the full track and review the final edit on your Galaxy phone. Check that narration is understandable, the ending does not cut off awkwardly, and the visuals are not a repeated template with only the music changed.
- During upload, apply YouTube’s altered-or-synthetic label if the video includes realistic synthetic content that could be mistaken for a real person or performance.
- Save the track’s license details and keep a note of which parts you wrote, performed, edited, or arranged yourself.
What Permission Does Not Guarantee
A license from a music generator is not a guarantee that a specific upload will be accepted for monetization, avoid a rights claim, or qualify for copyright protection. YouTube’s content and monetization decisions still apply, and rights can depend on the material you supplied as well as the generated result. If the vendor does not clearly establish permission for a particular voice, cover, sample, or commercial use, check its terms before publishing.
