Zephyr
What it is
Zephyr is a free, open-source desktop mod manager for browsing and installing game mods, then switching between profiles. It supports about 200 games out of the box and combines Thunderstore and CurseForge browsing in one search. The app runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, deploying mods by copying them. Users can share profile codes or links so friends can reproduce a setup. Optional cloud sync requires Discord sign-in and enabling the feature. Zephyr also includes an Archipelago multiworld randomizer with Python bundled, an editor for BepInEx configuration files, and gamepad navigation. Customization includes seven themes, custom fonts and colors, and seven languages. Without sign-in, the maker says personal data remains on the device and mod metadata requests are anonymous. With cloud sync, profile archives and metadata are stored with the maker’s hosting provider in France. The app uses GPL-3.0; Windows builds are not code-signed and macOS builds are not notarized.
