XigmaNAS
What it is
XigmaNAS is a free, open-source operating system for creating a network-attached storage server. Its WebGUI lets administrators configure and manage the system without using the FreeBSD command line. Storage support includes ZFS, software RAID, JBOD, UFS, and disk encryption, while sharing protocols include SMB/CIFS, FTP/SFTP, SSH, NFS, AFP, RSYNC, Unison, and iSCSI. S.M.A.R.T. monitoring and email notifications can report drive issues. XigmaNAS also includes a web-based VirtualBox host for virtual machines managed with phpVirtualBox, plus MySQL through MariaDB and phpMyAdmin. The project lists compatible access from Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android devices. It supports 64-bit systems only. Installation media includes LiveCD, LiveUSB, embedded, and full upgrade images. Embedded installs require a 2 GB OS disk; full installs require 4 GB, with 512 MB RAM for each.
