What it is
OSNEXUS QuantaStor is software-defined storage for managing file, block, and object storage in one grid. Built on Ceph and OpenZFS, it can scale up or out. Administrators can use a web interface and configuration workflow designed for IT generalists, or manage Storage Grid servers through CLI tools and REST APIs. QuantaStor is available as ISO installation media for bare-metal or virtual-machine installation, as well as a VMware OVA virtual storage appliance. Its Cloud Integration SDK supports provisioning, storage-cloud management, and auditing through RESTful APIs. OSNEXUS describes data protection in transit and at rest. For Ceph users, listed security capabilities include AES-256 encryption, S3 Object Lock, MFA, and RBAC; the Ceph page also lists alerts through email, Slack, SNMP, and other channels, plus hardware monitoring. Community Edition is free for non-commercial, educational, and testing use, with an 80TB raw-capacity limit and a maximum of four servers per grid.
