What it is
Spelvo turns Malaysian school spelling lists into daily practice in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Chinese. Children or parents can photograph handwritten or printed lists, which OCR converts into digital word lists; the lists can also be translated among the three languages. Practice options include typed spelling, flashcards, audio playback, and retrying missed words. Spelvo says its Google text-to-speech audio provides pronunciation in all three languages. Its Vo the Bee feature reads photographed handwritten answers and marks each word, which the site says takes under 10 seconds. Users can share lists and join school, tuition, or invite-only groups with leaderboards. Spelvo accepts KSSR Standard 1–6 lists and lists for other Malaysian school streams, including international schools. Individual classroom teachers and tuition tutors can request a free Teacher Account with unlimited OCR and student invite links granting a six-month Guest Pass; onboarding is manual, and centre owners are not eligible. Spelvo says photos are removed after the requested snap and are not retained, sold, or used for advertising. It is available on Android and the web, but not yet on iOS.
