What it is
DoodleSpell is a personalised spelling practice app for children aged 5–11, with curriculum content for KS1 and KS2 aligned to EYFS, KS1 and KS2. It offers thousands of interactive exercises, rewards and games covering spelling recall, word meaning, word formation and sentence structure. Children must complete at least three practice rounds to unlock a spelling test, and can do more rounds without a limit. Parents with a home subscription and teachers with a school subscription can assign practice, including custom word lists. Audio dictation is an accessibility option intended to help less confident readers practise independently.
