Siteleaf
What it is
Siteleaf is a content management system for creating and publishing static websites, with Jekyll support and a visual editor or Markdown editing. Users can work with existing Jekyll themes or custom themes, add images and text files by dragging them in, and preview changes before publication. Content and theme changes sync with GitHub, where edits can be reviewed and earlier states restored. Siteleaf can publish to Amazon S3, GitHub Pages, Rackspace Cloud Files, and hosts that accept FTP or SFTP. It also supports imports from WordPress, Tumblr, Ghost, and Drupal through Jekyll importers, provides a JSON API for Jekyll content, and says tasks can be automated with Zapier. Its output is static, so the maker says it does not depend on a database or complicated server setup. Siteleaf no longer offers built-in hosting for v2 sites. Plans include a free Developer tier and paid tiers; new sites start with a free 14-day Personal plan trial without a credit card.

The verdict
Siteleaf brings editing, GitHub workflows, imports, and several publishing destinations to Jekyll-based static sites. Its free Developer tier and Personal trial offer ways to begin, but v2 sites need an external publishing destination because built-in Siteleaf Hosting is unavailable.
Who it suits
Siteleaf may suit individuals or teams building Jekyll-based static sites who want visual or Markdown editing and GitHub synchronization. Teams needing built-in Siteleaf hosting for v2 sites should note that it is no longer offered.
