RomForge

What it is

RomForge is a free, open-source desktop tool for managing ROM collections that use OfflineList DAT files. It scans folders, compares files with DAT entries through CRC32, and reports statuses such as Verified, Missing, Incorrectly Named, Wrong Archive Type, and Untrimmed. Files can be renamed to DAT-expected names and re-archived between ZIP and 7z. The tool can remove GBA and NDS padding. Multiple DAT files are supported, and updates can come from configured URLs. A cache re-hashes only changed files, while game-list status remains after restarts. RomForge is a modern OfflineList rewrite that retains community DAT compatibility, but users provide the DAT files themselves. It reads OfflineList XML and does not currently read No-Intro/Logiqx format. Supported systems are macOS on Apple Silicon or Intel, Windows x64, and Linux x64. The macOS app is signed and notarized; Windows and Linux downloads are ZIP and TAR.GZ archives. The project uses the MIT license.
