RomCenter

What it is
RomCenter is a free Windows program for organizing collections of games used with emulators. It can show which games an emulator supports alongside the titles in a collection, helping users spot missing games or ROMs with incorrect names. Its repair functions can rename ROMs, make dummy ROMs where needed, and use available files from other open paths. It cannot recreate a genuinely missing ROM unless the file is a bad dump. ROM paths can include uncompressed files or ZIP and 7z archives. The documented set modes are unmerged, merged, and split; the wiki describes split as using the least disk space and being supported by many emulators, including MAME. Collections can use a database made from a datafile, or game information extracted directly from an emulator; direct extraction is currently limited to MAME. Plugins calculate CRC and file size, recognize formats, and can skip headers to identify equivalent ROMs across formats. The package includes English and several translations. The listed 4.1.1 downloads are Windows installer and portable versions dated December 2020; requirements list .NET Framework 4 and Windows XP through Windows 10.
