What it is
Oxygen XML Editor is a desktop XML authoring and development tool for beginners through experts. It supports Text, Grid and Author editing modes, with as-you-type validation and context-sensitive assistance for XML, JSON and HTML documents. Ready-to-use frameworks include DITA, DocBook, XHTML and TEI. Publishing scenarios can turn one source into PDF, EPUB, HTML, WebHelp and plain HTML outputs. The editor connects with Microsoft SharePoint and WebDAV-enabled content systems, and its Apache Subversion client handles repository browsing, commits, updates and revision history. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, and is also available as an Eclipse plugin. Enterprise adds support for IBM DB2, Oracle 10.2 and Microsoft SQL Server; Professional excludes commercial database support. A 30-day evaluation is available with a trial license key, but there is no free plan. Listed annual subscriptions are $34 a year for Professional and $53 a year for Enterprise (AI-ready). On Linux, bundled Java requires X.org; Wayland is not supported.
