NotePerformer
Stockholm, Sweden
What it is
NotePerformer is a paid orchestral playback tool for Sibelius, Dorico, and Finale notation software. It supplies its own large-scale modern symphonic orchestra sounds and analyzes scores so instruments follow natural musical phrasing. Wallander Instruments describes the virtual instrument technology as patented and developed in-house. NotePerformer runs on macOS and Windows, with compatibility listed from Sibelius 7.1.3, Dorico 3.5, and Finale 27 in English. A 30-day trial is available, but the notation software must be restarted every hour, audio cannot be exported to disk, and the trial ends after 30 days. NotePerformer 5 no longer supports VST3 hosting, and its Playback Engines extension is no longer included. The software adds a one-second playback delay, so it cannot be used with ReWire. Pricing includes a 129.00 USD perpetual single-user license, $10.75 a month rent-to-own, and a $200 site license for 1–5 seats.
