What it is
Manuscripts.ai is a web-based AI writing platform for authors, novelists, researchers, and storytellers creating novels, short stories, academic papers, and nonfiction. Its AI Book Writer generates structured chapters with genre, tone, and style controls. Story planning tools produce synopses with multiple arc options and turn idea dumps into outlines or plans. A Lore Book stores characters, locations, timelines, and world-building details for use across chapters. The AI Editor supports structural, developmental, copy, and line editing, plus paraphrasing and grammar, style, readability, and sentiment analysis. AI Chat offers Research and Brainstorm modes, while the AI Agent can perform multi-step edits such as global find and replace, voice changes, and translation. Academic tools include APA, MLA, Chicago, and Harvard citations, a source database, and chart generation. Import supports TXT, DOCX, and RTF; exports include DOCX, PDF, EPUB, AZW3, Markdown, and plain text. The Free plan allows one active project and 50,000 tokens. Professional costs $29 a month.
