LinkedDataHub
Lithuania
What it is
LinkedDataHub is a free, open-source low-code platform for working with RDF knowledge graphs. It supports data management, visualizations, and app building, and can also be used as an RDF-focused content management system. Its tools include a UI component library, SPARQL-based templates for creating and editing content, and SPIN and SHACL constraints for validating incoming data. CSV imports can be mapped to RDF using SPARQL CONSTRUCT, and RDF imports can be transformed with that query approach. Authentication supports WebID and OpenID Connect with Google and ORCID; WAC permissions govern reading, writing, appending, and control. Documents have Git-backed version histories accessible through Memento. LinkedDataHub provides a SPARQL endpoint and a read-write Linked Data API, and can serve a document as HTML or RDF from the same URI. Apache Jena Fuseki is the default, with support for compatible SPARQL 1.1 triplestores. The documented setup uses Docker Compose and backend triplestores. The project is self-hosted under an Apache 2.0 license.
For and against
For
- Free and licensed under Apache 2.0.
- Supports CSV and RDF imports.
- Provides a SPARQL endpoint and read-write API.
- Serves documents as HTML or RDF from one URI.
Against
- The setup is self-hosted.
- Currently supported imports are CSV and RDF.
- The documented local setup uses Docker Compose.
The verdict
LinkedDataHub brings RDF data management, app building, validation, and APIs together in a self-hosted platform. Its fit depends on working with RDF and the supported import and triplestore options.
Who it suits
LinkedDataHub may fit researchers, data scientists, developers, data publishers, and builders of AI agents who work with RDF data. It is suited to users comfortable with a self-hosted setup and SPARQL-based tools.
