What it is
IT Asset Tool inventories hardware and software across a LAN to support IT asset and software asset management. It offers agentless scanning integrated with Microsoft Active Directory and a separate client/server scanning mode. Hardware records can include manufacturer, model, processor, memory, GPU and disk. The software inventory tracks installations and removals, Windows patches and running processes. Its license compliance feature checks detected software against licenses recorded in a contracts database and can flag anomalies. The on-premises product supports data acquisition through Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, SQLite, SNMP versions 1–3 and SSH. Its Syslog server collects and analyzes device events, including from macOS and Linux, using customizable RegEx rules. Users can set event rules, email notifications and scheduled reports, and monitor endpoint antivirus and firewall status. The Basic edition is free for up to 35 managed assets; Enterprise editions support unlimited assets. The management server requires 64-bit Windows 11 or Windows Server 2019 or later and at least 8 GB RAM. Linux hosts can be scanned over SSH.
