HTCondor
What it is
HTCondor is a free, self-hosted system for managing compute-intensive jobs. It queues and schedules work, sets priorities, monitors resources, and manages computing across networked clusters, cloud resources, and international grids. Its ClassAd mechanism pairs job requests with machine offers using configurable requirements and preferences. If a machine becomes unavailable while running a job, HTCondor can restart that work on another machine. It can transfer job data when machines do not share a file system, or route job input and output through the submitting machine. Separate installations can coordinate through flocking, and HTCondor-G works with Globus-managed resources. Linux, MacOS, and Windows are supported. The listed feature release is version 25.14.1, which adds a metric daemon able to export metrics to Prometheus and Ganglia. Security fixes cover the current feature release and current LTS; the previous LTS is supported for about twelve months after a new LTS release. The software and documentation are available under Apache License 2.0, without warranties or conditions. Contracted support is available for fees that vary by support policy.
