Callu
What it is
Callu is a self-hosted, single-tenant incident management and on-call platform for an organization’s own infrastructure. It is free and open source under the MIT License, with no per-seat fees and a listed cost of $0 per seat. Incident handling includes a six-state lifecycle, append-only timeline, notes, manual escalation, and duplicate suppression. Schedules support timezone-aware rotations and overrides, while escalation policies can target users, schedules, or teams. Alerts arrive through Prometheus, Grafana, JSON, and webhooks, with API keys, optional HMAC, rate limiting, and JSONPath templates. Notifications include email, SMS, voice, push, Slack, Teams, and webhooks. Callu also lists phone paging, WebRTC war rooms, status pages, health checks, service dependencies, maintenance windows, reporting, and post-incident reviews. Deployment uses Docker and Docker Compose with PostgreSQL in the architecture. A mobile app is planned, and mandatory webhook HMAC is still maturing.
