CallMeter
What it is
CallMeter is a cloud-based platform for testing SIP systems under load and analyzing VoIP quality. It measures more than 90 real-time metrics per call, second, endpoint, and direction. Load tests can vary endpoint counts, SIP methods, authentication, and call duration, and can capture SIP messages with ladder diagrams. The platform supports multiple audio codecs, including PCMU, PCMA, G.722, Opus, G.726-32, GSM, Speex, AMR, and iLBC, along with H.264, H.265, VP8, and VP9 video. Continuous probes can run as caller or callee on interval or cron schedules, apply quality thresholds, track sliding-window status, and send webhook alerts. Its REST API supports test runs, metric retrieval, probe management, and CI/CD quality gates for GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Jenkins. Users can select managed cloud workers or Docker-based workers in private networks. With user-owned workers, SIP signaling and RTP media stay in the customer network while aggregated quality metrics leave it. A seven-day trial requires a valid payment method and converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled. Pricing is on request.
For and against
For
- Measures over 90 real-time quality metrics.
- Supports configurable SIP load tests and message capture.
- REST API supports CI/CD quality gates.
- User-owned workers keep signaling and media in-network.
Against
- Trial requires a valid payment method.
- Trial converts to paid unless cancelled in time.
- Cloud workers reach only public-internet SIP infrastructure.
- Pricing is available on request.
The verdict
CallMeter combines configurable SIP load testing, continuous probes, and quality metrics with API-based automation. Teams with private SIP infrastructure need user-owned workers rather than cloud workers.
Who it suits
CallMeter suits carriers, network engineers, SRE and NOC teams, DevOps teams, MSPs, procurement teams, and telecom managers who need SIP testing or ongoing VoIP monitoring.
