Basis AI Scribe
What it is
Basis AI Scribe captures patient encounters and prepares clinical notes for clinicians to review and approve. Before a visit, it brings the reason for the visit, relevant chart context, and recent history into one view. Clinicians can compare a draft note with its source transcript, edit it, and approve it before it moves to the chart. Audio, transcripts, and drafts are processed on hardware controlled by the practice, and local capture and drafting can continue during an internet interruption. Basis Desktop runs on supported Mac or Windows computers and uses the computer microphone. Basis Mobile captures visits on supported phones, tablets, or watches, independently or with Audio Beacons. Listed integrations include Epic, athenahealth, Oracle Health, Canvas Medical, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, and Tebra. Basis says export paths are scoped and tested against the customer’s EHR instance before go-live. It also says the clinical app has no account, login, analytics, or advertising code; audio is recorded only after a provider starts recording, streams to the practice’s Basis appliance, and is not stored in the app. Pricing is on request; the listed download plan is free.
