What it is
ArcaScribe creates automated transcript drafts on a user’s computer for court reporters, legal transcriptionists, and other qualified professionals. Users can proofread, format, and certify drafts against the original recording. Each sentence is linked to its audio timecode, allowing users to move from text to that point in the recording. On-device voice detection suggests speaker identities, which users can review and edit or replace with a custom speaker list. Supported media includes WAV, MP3, M4A, and MP4, as well as FTR and CourtSmart files. Liberty files must first be exported as WAV using Liberty Player for Windows. The software is available for Windows and Mac, and its download page says it is in beta, so features and performance may change. The maker says audio and transcript content are not uploaded, and user data is not used to train AI models. A free plan is available; paid plans start at $19.99/mo. A subscription permits use on up to three devices.
