Short answer: Suno’s Free Plan does not include commercial rights. If you plan to monetize, license, advertise, distribute, or otherwise use a Suno track for business, do not assume that a free generation becomes commercially usable after you upgrade. Check the terms attached to the plan and the date on which each song was generated, then keep your prompts, lyrics, source audio, plan records, and exports together. Suno is a complete music workspace with vocals, lyrics, instrumentation, production, editing, stems, and web, iOS, and Android access, so it can fit a Galaxy phone workflow; the commercial question still depends on the applicable terms.
What Suno Commercial Use Means
Commercial use is any use connected to earning money, promoting a business, selling a product, supporting a monetized channel, licensing a track, or distributing music as part of a paid project. A song made for a client video, an online store, a paid podcast, a sponsored post, or a monetized YouTube channel should be treated as commercial until Suno’s current terms say otherwise.
Suno’s directory information identifies the Free Plan as having no commercial rights. Its pricing is freemium, with paid access from $8 per month, but the supplied plan details do not establish a blanket commercial-use grant for every paid tier or every song made before upgrading. Read the live terms for the exact plan, billing period, generation date, download right, and permitted distribution before publishing.

Free And Paid Suno Plans At A Glance
| Plan Or Access | Stated Allowance | Commercial-Use Position | Practical Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free Plan | 50 credits per day; 8 minutes of audio upload | Does not include commercial rights | Do not monetize, license, or use a free-plan song for a business project unless the current terms expressly permit it |
| Pro Plan | 2,500 credits per month; 20 song downloads per month | Commercial-rights wording is not established in the supplied plan details | Confirm the current license before release; downloads are capped at 20 songs per month |
| Premier access | Suno Studio access | Commercial-rights wording is not established in the supplied plan details | Studio access is limited to the Premier Plan; verify rights separately |
The safest reading is operational: the Free Plan is personal or noncommercial, while paid access requires a plan-specific terms check. Save a screenshot or PDF of the terms you relied on and note the subscription dates in your project folder.
Copyright And Ownership Are Separate Questions
A platform license and copyright protection are different. The U.S. Copyright Office says material generated entirely by AI is not copyrightable, prompts alone do not make the user the author, and only human-authored parts of a mixed work can be protected. If a work contains more than a minimal amount of AI-generated material, a registration applicant must disclose that material and describe the human contribution. Read the Copyright Office’s AI report and guidance.

That means a paid Suno plan may address your permission to use a file under Suno’s contract, while it does not automatically give you exclusive copyright in every musical element. Your own lyrics, arrangement decisions, recorded instruments, edited structure, and other human-created contributions may need to be documented separately. Do not promise a client unrestricted ownership unless the applicable contract and the human contribution support that promise.
Voices, Covers, Samples, And Consent
AI Vocals And Voice Identity
Use a generic vocal brief unless you have permission for a real person’s identity. A prompt such as “warm alto vocal, intimate delivery, clear English diction” describes a sound; it does not authorize imitation of a named singer. Keep written consent for any supplied vocal, voice reference, or identity-based performance and check Suno’s terms before release.

Covers And Familiar Material
Do not treat a cover workflow as automatically cleared for commercial distribution. Confirm that you have the permissions needed for the underlying composition and any identifiable performance, then check Suno’s rules for uploaded or transformed audio. A plan that allows downloading does not by itself establish that every source recording is cleared.
Uploaded Samples And References
Only upload audio you own or are authorized to use. Retain licenses for samples, stems, field recordings, and reference tracks. Suno supports audio uploads and editing, but the supplied information does not establish that Suno grants rights to third-party material you provide.

A Galaxy-Friendly Commercial Workflow
- Define the business use. Write down where the song will appear: a client reel, product page, monetized channel, app, advertisement, or release.
- Choose the plan before generating. If the project may earn money, avoid relying on a Free Plan generation. Review the current Suno terms for the paid tier you intend to use.
- Generate an original brief. On your Samsung Galaxy phone, describe the tempo, mood, instruments, vocal type, lyric subject, duration target, and intended edit points without naming an artist to imitate.
- Keep a rights log. Record the account, plan, date, prompt, lyric source, uploaded audio, and any collaborators. Export or capture the applicable terms.
- Edit for the actual placement. Use Suno’s section replacement, remixing, extensions, and stem export where your plan permits. Make a short intro, a clean ending, and a version that leaves room for dialogue if the track supports video.
- Review every human contribution. Check lyrics, supplied recordings, edits, and performances for permissions. Separate what you created from what the model generated.
- Clear the destination platform. Confirm the rules of the service where you will publish, including disclosure, impersonation, and repetitive-content policies.
Prompt And Edit Examples For Commercial Projects
Product Video Bed
Try a brief such as: “60-second instrumental bed for a Galaxy accessory demonstration, restrained electronic pulse, clean bass, bright plucked melody, no lead vocal, clear change at 15 and 45 seconds, decisive ending.” After generation, replace sections that compete with narration and export the stems your plan permits.
Local Business Social Clip
For a short vertical video, use: “Upbeat pop song with original lyrics about a weekend café menu, friendly conversational vocal, compact verse and chorus, strong hook in the first 10 seconds, polished but uncluttered production.” Confirm that the plan and destination permit commercial use before posting.

Podcast Theme
Use: “Instrumental technology podcast theme, 20-second opening, modern drums, warm synth chords, identifiable three-note motif, button ending for a spoken transition.” Save both the full version and the edit used in the episode so the licensed asset is traceable.

Spotify announced protections requiring authorization for vocal impersonation, filtering mass uploads and duplicates, and supporting DDEX AI disclosures in credits. It later introduced an AI Persona badge for artist identities that may be AI-generated. Spotify’s September 2025 policy announcement and its August 2026 AI Persona announcement show why a platform license is only one part of release preparation.

YouTube requires disclosure of realistic altered or synthetic content that could be mistaken for a real person’s performance. Its inauthentic-content policy targets mass-produced, repetitive, or template-based uploads rather than AI use by itself. Review the clarified YouTube guidance before publishing a series of similar tracks.
When You Should Pause A Release
- The song was generated on Suno’s Free Plan and the intended use is commercial.
- You cannot identify the plan, date, or terms that applied when the song was made.
- The vocal resembles a real artist, or a contributor has not given consent.
- The prompt or upload relies on lyrics, samples, or recordings you do not control.
- A client expects exclusive copyright in an output that is substantially AI-generated.
- The destination platform requires an AI disclosure or rejects repetitive uploads and you have not prepared the required information.
Bottom Line For Samsung Galaxy Users
Suno can take a Galaxy user from a text brief to a vocal or instrumental song, then through revisions and stem work on the web or mobile apps. Commercial clearance is the part that needs deliberate recordkeeping: the Free Plan has no commercial rights, paid-plan permissions must be confirmed in the current terms, and copyright, consent, samples, and distributor policies remain separate checks. Treat each song as a documented project, and publish only after every right you rely on is written down.
