To convert a voice recording into MIDI on a Samsung Galaxy phone, upload the audio to a transcription service, let it detect the sung melody, then export the result as a MIDI file. Songscription is the most direct choice when the recording contains vocals; Melody Scanner is convenient on Android for short melodies; and SongUp AI explicitly includes audio-to-MIDI for sung melodies.
Prepare The Galaxy Recording
- Use a recording with one clearly audible voice and as little background music, reverb, and conversation as possible.
- Trim silence and unrelated sections before uploading. A short phrase is easier to transcribe than a full rehearsal with several parts.
- Keep the original file until you have checked the MIDI. The MIDI contains detected notes and timing, not the singer’s recorded sound.

Method 1: Export A Vocal MIDI With Songscription
- On your Galaxy browser, open Songscription.
- Choose the upload or recording option and provide the trimmed voice file. A browser recording is also supported.
- Run the transcription and review the displayed notes for missed syllables, octave jumps, or timing errors.
- Choose MIDI from the export options and save the file to your Galaxy storage.
- Open the MIDI in your preferred music or notation editor and correct notes that the vocal performance made ambiguous.
Songscription does not support batch processing, and it does not support full-band or orchestral transcription. For a voice memo with instruments underneath, isolate the vocal first or expect more editing.

Method 2: Turn A Short Melody Into MIDI With Melody Scanner
- Open Melody Scanner on Android or in a Galaxy browser.
- Import the recording or provide a supported video link.
- Keep the source within the five-minute audio-input limit; the free plan permits only one minute of recording.
- Review the editable notation and melody before exporting.
- Use the MIDI export when your subscription includes it, then download the file to the phone.
Melody Scanner does not separate multiple instruments. A solo voice over a backing track can therefore produce extra or inaccurate notes; a voice-only take gives it a cleaner target.
Method 3: Use SongUp AI For Sung Ideas
- Open SongUp AI in your Galaxy browser.
- Submit a sung melody, humming, whistling, or another supported vocal idea.
- Use the audio-to-MIDI workflow and inspect the generated note sequence.

Fix Common Conversion Problems
- Wrong notes: Re-record the phrase at a steady pitch, then compare the new MIDI with the first pass.
- Wrong octave: Move the affected notes by an octave in a MIDI editor and listen against the original recording.
- Too many notes: Remove breaths, background harmonies, and instrumental bleed from the source before transcribing again.
- Loose timing: Record with a clear pulse or use the editor’s quantize controls after export.
- Long recording rejected: Split the voice memo into short musical phrases that fit the service’s stated limits.
Consent, Rights, And Export Terms
Only upload a voice you have permission to process. If another person is singing, get that person’s consent and check the service’s current terms before publishing the MIDI or a song made from it.

Check The MIDI Before You Build Around It
Play the MIDI with a simple piano or synth sound and compare it with the Galaxy recording phrase by phrase. Keep the original audio beside the MIDI while correcting pitch, octave, note lengths, and rests; those edits are normal because transcription services infer notes from performance audio.
