Yumpu
Diepoldsau, Switzerland
What it is
Yumpu converts PDFs into online publications such as magazines, brochures and reports that readers can open from a link or view embedded on a website. It turns uploaded files into page-turning publications and says a magazine can be online in about two minutes. Publications can include links, videos and picture galleries, and Yumpu extracts text from PDFs to prepare it for search engines. They can be shared by email or social networks. Listed integrations include Dropbox automatic imports and a WordPress plugin for uploading PDFs and embedding publications. The API supports uploads, publication management, access tags, settings changes and connections to external applications. Readers can download the original PDF when the publisher enables downloads, a feature available with paid subscriptions. The free plan permits three uploads and includes Google indexing, website integration and social sharing. Paid plans start at $19.95/mo billed annually, and a 14-day trial is listed. APPKiosk and PROKiosk offer custom mobile apps with offline reading; APPKiosk supports Android or iOS, while PROKiosk includes both platforms.
