Workato Developer API Portal
Palo Alto, California, United States
What it is
Workato Developer API Portal is a hosted space where administrators publish API documentation, manage client access, and set authentication options. Clients can browse collections assigned to them, discover other collections, request access, inspect endpoint methods and schemas, and test endpoints using example requests and responses. They can create and manage API keys; administrators can optionally allow or block IP addresses for those keys. Authentication options include email magic links and Workato Identity, including an organization’s identity provider. Administrators can configure the portal’s branding and URL, use a custom domain, assign collections, and apply optional rate limits or usage quotas. One important limitation is that a published portal stays live and cannot be taken offline. Workato’s API management platform also supports API proxies and recipe-based endpoints, with controls for access, request monitoring, and quotas. A Free plan is listed as free, Pro at $100 a month, and Enterprise pricing is on request.

The verdict
Workato Developer API Portal combines API discovery, documentation, testing, and client access management in a hosted portal. Its main constraint is that publication is not reversible by taking the portal offline.
Who it suits
It suits API administrators publishing and managing APIs, and clients who need to discover, test, and consume them. The optional collection policies and custom domain may also matter to administrators managing client access.
