WireMan
What it is
WireMan is a free, open-source terminal gRPC client for Linux developers testing gRPC endpoints. It reads .proto files named in a configuration file and supports unary, server-side streaming, client-side streaming, and bidirectional streaming methods. When available, gRPC server reflection can be used with optional authentication headers. Requests support authentication and metadata headers, including bearer tokens supplied by a shell script. WireMan keeps request history and autosaves it by default, and the current request can be copied as a grpcurl command. Vim-style navigation and system-editor field editing are built into the interface. Users can set custom UI skins, with premade themes offered in a separate repository, and use the client in Neovim through the wireman.nvim floating-terminal integration. Installation options include Cargo, Homebrew, X-CMD, downloaded binaries, or building from source. The README requires Rust 1.70 at minimum. The project is MIT licensed, and support is handled through GitHub issues.
