WePROXA
What it is
WePROXA is a native HTTP/HTTPS proxy debugger for macOS and Windows. It captures traffic so developers can inspect request and response headers, bodies, and timing, then modify or replay requests. WebSocket inspection shows frames individually with direction filters, payload search, opcodes, and live updates. Other tools include breakpoints, local file mapping, scripting rules, advanced filtering, response mocking, and side-by-side request diffs. The proxy can handle devices on the same local network, including iPhones, iPads, Android phones, and desktop computers. The Free plan costs nothing and limits hosts, rules, workspaces, and scenarios. WePROXA Pro costs $25, paid once, includes one year of updates, removes tool limits, and allows one active machine per standard license. Pro also includes MCP integration for AI-assisted debugging. Traffic stays local; HTTPS inspection uses a locally generated trusted CA certificate. Certificate-pinned apps reject generated certificates, and custom proxy configurations may need extra setup.
For and against
For
- Request and response editing and replay
- Frame-level WebSocket inspection
- Local device proxy support
- Response mocking and breakpoint tools
- Traffic data stays on the local machine
Against
- Free plan has multiple rule limits
- Standard Pro license covers one machine
- Pinned-certificate apps reject generated certificates
- Some custom proxy apps need extra setup
The verdict
WePROXA provides a broad local toolkit for HTTP, HTTPS, and WebSocket debugging. The free edition is constrained by rule limits, while the one-time Pro license removes those limits and adds MCP integration.
Who it suits
It suits developers inspecting, editing, replaying, or mocking traffic across desktop and local-network devices. Free targets light debugging, while Pro is aimed at teams and solo developers handling more complex cases.
