Visual Regression Tracker
What it is
Visual Regression Tracker compares submitted screenshots with accepted images to flag visual changes across web, mobile, and desktop projects wherever a screenshot can be captured. It is open source and self-hosted, with Docker images for setup and data kept inside the user’s intranet. Projects can retain baseline history, exclude regions from comparisons, and select Pixelmatch, Looks-Same, Odiff, or a VLM comparison provider. A review dashboard provides side-by-side, diff, scrubber, and onion-skin views, with one-click approval. Feature branches use the main branch baseline until a change is approved, and builds can report commit status to GitHub or GitLab. Integrations include agents for Playwright, Cypress, CodeceptJS, and Robot Framework, SDKs for JavaScript, Java, Python, and .NET, and a REST API for other languages. A standalone JAR handles PDFs as well as images. The documented maximum screenshot upload payload is 20 MB. Each project has one owner; members can view snapshots and approve changes, while some actions are owner-only. The project is free and licensed under Apache-2.0.
