What it is
Screenster is a UI regression testing tool for automating checks of web interfaces. It can record actions on web pages without code, element IDs, checks or assertions, then compare later runs with a baseline to spot new, removed or changed visual and page content. Smart selectors can find moved or changed elements and adjust timeouts. Users can also write JavaScript or Java tests against the Selenium API within Screenster. Its online servers stopped running after August 1, 2023, according to the company, while local use is free without restrictions and the locally installed server can work offline. Installation requires Windows; the guide lists Windows 8, 8.1, 10, Server 2012 and Server 2016. Supported local browsers include Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer. Plans include a free option and per-tester monthly plans: Basic at $25.00, Standard at $45.00 and Premium at $75.00. Standard and Premium list JIRA integration. Real-device testing is not supported.
