Unmapped
What it is
Unmapped is a browser-based map studio for publishing maps as videos, interactive stories, or standalone maps. It runs in a modern desktop browser without installation. Places, labels, routes, and effects become timeline clips that can be arranged with scenes, transitions, looping, and frame-accurate scrubbing. The studio imports CSV, GeoJSON, zipped Shapefiles, and GeoTIFF files, and can use live feeds for earthquakes, wildfires, and weather alerts. Data can appear as points, heatmaps, hexbins, or 3D columns, with styling, timing, and animation. Users can place 3D landmarks, people, or storm systems along routes, while an AI assistant builds scenes from descriptions. Exports include MP4 films up to 4K in landscape or vertical formats, interactive stories, and still images. Stories may be public, unlisted, or private. The free plan is $0 forever; Pro is $29/month and Studio is $79/month.
