µTorrent Classic
What it is
µTorrent Classic is a Windows desktop client for managing torrent downloads, including multiple downloads in one place. It supports magnet links, DHT, and selective downloads, and automatically adjusts bandwidth use to the network and internet connection. Users can schedule downloads to start, stop, or seed, and add torrents remotely from µTorrent Android or a web browser while their home computer is on and Classic is running. RSS feeds can trigger automatic downloads of all or selected titles, and the client can shut down or reboot the computer after downloads finish. The maker describes Classic as intended for experienced users while saying the standard settings also work for beginners. The product page says it supports Windows XP and later. Basic is free; Ad-Free costs $6.95 a year, Pro costs $19.95 a year, and Pro+VPN costs $69.95 a year. Pro lists malware and virus blocking, no ads, file conversion and playback, and premium support. A 14-day Pro trial is available. The maker notes that optional third-party installer offers may be flagged by some antivirus programs.
