What it is
The Wind Waker HD Randomizer changes item placement and parts of the experience in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD. It shuffles items, makes the world available from the beginning, removes most cutscenes, and adds gameplay tweaks. The project supports only the USA version of Wind Waker HD; European and Japanese editions and the original Wind Waker are unsupported. It is free under the MIT License and has Windows, macOS, and Linux versions, including native Linux x64 builds in the latest release. Emulator setup requires a decrypted USA game copy in a folder with code, content, and meta subfolders. The setup instructions suggest adding the generated output folder to an emulator's game paths and name Cemu as a likely option. Wii U play requires the Aroma environment and sigpatches, and the randomized channel reserves 2 GB of storage after initial setup. The PC application includes an accurate-logic item tracker, while Wii U and web use do not. Each seed produces a spoiler log describing its contents. Other mods are unsupported; bug reports can be filed through Discord or GitHub with the seed log.
